No offense but people are dreaming if 300 million people are getting vaccinated by summer. We’ll be lucky if we can get 40% of the country to vaccinate...ever.

 

I remember a few months ago experts were speculating that there would be no vaccine for a couple of years...

Not saying you are wrong or anything, just saying that with the way things went so far, no one can really know what will happen.

 

I have no doubt vaccines may be widely available by the summer time...the issue is people taking the vaccine.

 

This is my perspective too. There's no way to tell how it will all go, or how people's minds might change about getting vaccinated when they see what the "rules" are. If you need to show proof of vaccination to do X, Y, Z? I can see people's mindset changing pretty quickly. And I can see that being something that gets put into effective for larger events after a certain point.

I have a few acquaintances in my social circle who, early on, were refusing to get tested because they "didn't want the government to get their DNA" or "be able to track them" or whatever. But the second a test was required for them to do something they wanted to do? Their tone changed in a major way.

I think the landscape will change as time goes along. When people see that the vaccine is effective, understand the effects better, etc. I know a few people who have already changed their mind about getting it after they heard from people they know first-hand about their experience with the vaccination.

The key is making sure people have access to it and are educated. And I think we're making positive steps toward that.

As far as people who don't want to take the vaccine when they have access to it, proper educational materials around it, the ability to take time off work or whatever to get it and all that? At a certain point, it's going to be on them. I'm not saying whether that's right or wrong, and frankly I'm not sure how I even feel about that but... At a certain point, the world is going to open back up fully with or without those people being vaccinated.

 

Most people I see (or unfortunately know) who talk about refusing to take the vaccine are the same people who refuse to acknowledge that COVID is a serious virus and are the ones posting "COVID HAS A 99.97 SURVIVAL RATE!!!!' posts all over social media and bitch about masks, lockdowns, their freedom, etc. There will be no getting through to those people. And it's a LOT of people.

Like...74 million people (at minimum).

 

Genital warts have 100% survival rate but i don't think anyone wants to get them.

 

Weird comparison...I don't see any 'Genital Warts is a Hoax' campaigns by millions of people.

 

Looks like an arena tour is being announced Wednesday (oops had the day wrong at first)

And whatever that tour is won’t be till atleast September/October. That venue is still being built and won’t be done until the start of the 2021-2022 nhl season
