I was worried 2021 might be a bit slow for new music but it’s certainly starting off strong

 

I didn't see that this came out last year - I love you could be a cop, and there's some cool unreleased stuff on here

Also this seems up people’s alley in here based on the RIYLs and the song released:

I feel like the beginning and end of the RIYL is targeted at me, this topshelf discord might be spying on me

hazy stuff. first album that’s really sunk it’s teeth into me this year.

 

Buck Meek is the only album to really grab me so far this year. There's a lot of other good stuff but that's the winner right now

 

to be honest it feels like I've been living under a rock music-wise since the start of the new year. really need to spend some time this weekend catching up.

 

Wouldn't call it emo but this rules

 

The vocals on that album were tough for me at the start, but by the end he won me over.

A lot of people in here would probably like the Danielle Durack album (RIYL: Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, etc.) -

 

There have definitely been some very solid releases so far this year (Danielle Durack, Cheekface, Buck Meek, Beach Bunny, Palberta, Lande Hekt, Pom Poko, Palberta, Cicala, are ones I have checked out and enjoyed) but I think the best is to come. Julien Baker/Wild Pink/Another Michael/Sun June are out in February, The Sonder Bombs is out this Friday, Camp Trash are working on an album for this year, Prince Daddy just finished an album, and lots of others are expected to release this year but haven't announced yet (JBREKKIE, Lucy Dacus, Kississippi, Snail Mail, Illuminati Hotties, Great Grandpa, to name a few off the top of my head).

American Football may also be recording this year. I swear I read that somewhere but I cannot remember where.

 

Haha the best is absolutely yet to come, we've got another 11 months!

No all-time classics in the first 3 weeks of January, let's cancel the rest of 2021.
