This turned out incredible. Doesn’t hurt that the original already has a big Bleachers vibe to it. Listening to these live performances make me super stoked for the album because I feel like it’s a glimpse at the direction he is taking. Fully leaning into the Bruce thing like Chinatown.

Good morning is an excellent song, but I HATE how it is mixed in headphones. I have listened to it in AirPods and really great headphones and it sounds like garbage. Still one of my favorites, tho.

 

The baby crying at the end of Good Morning is frankly baffling

 

If I remember from an interview, his friend was hanging in the studio with him and brought his baby. Baby started crying and Jack was like “yeah let’s add that to this song.”

I think he tinkers a bit too much sometimes, lol.

 

That’s all just from a vague memory I have and could be WAY off!

 

My biggest question about this is if “I wanna be grateful” still pops up at all

 

I think the idea is that Good Morning was heavily influenced by The Beatles, so the mixing tries to mirror the same weird panning that some Beatles songs had when they began recording in stereo.

 

Yeah I've always gotten Beatles vibes (Penny Lane/Lovely Rita) from Good Morning and love it.

 

damn. had a dream last night that the new album was announced. The key art was some sort of split image that looked like a Flying Lotus album cover and the track list was 60 tracks long. Sure, not all that believable, but was still hoping to open this thread and see something!

 

really the mix is what makes that song for me. It’s so cool and creative

There's kind of news... I don't remember exactly where but on one of his socials Jack confirmed it's finished and in mixing now. So it should be out........ soon.
