I listen all day at work. Not too hard to keep up with shows when you’re listening ten hours a day.

 

I like American Arts And Culture Review, How Did This Get Played, Yeah But Still, P.O.D. Kast, Doughboys, Why Won't You Date Me?

I fell off of CBB, DLM, NNF, I cant stand Pete Holmes anynore.

Ill also check High And Mighty if its a guest I liked.

 

I don’t listen to Pete’s regular show anymore but I love the episodes with his wife.

 

Pete sucks.

 

Why does Pete suck?

 

Let me rephrase that: Pete does not suck.

 

I just find him annoying as hell anymore. I don’t think he’s done anything bad or whatever. His schtick has just worn thin for me.

 

tbh that’s kind of always been his schtick. i agree he’s annoying and don’t really like him - it’s just always been that way.

 

Yeah it didn’t bother me at first but now he just makes me roll my eyes.

 

I remember watching one of Pete's specials and thinking the jokes were really well-written but the delivery was SO overbearing. I know people here disagree, but Mulaney is the same way for me.

 

Pete is great... in small doses.

 

Idk I just like the conversations he has with his wife about Buddhism and spirituality and stuff. Might help that I’ve gotten strongly into Buddhism since covid started and I’m a former Christian...

 

Pete sucks with that dumbass Louis CK video he did.

But he also seems like the kind of person Mookie Blaiklock parodies on his podcast, where he went to therapy so now he’s an expert on empathy.

I live in a city and take public transit (roughly 80 minutes total every day) and then my desk job allows me to have AirPods in all day.

 

I work from home now and can listen to podcasts/music but depending on what I’m doing it can be too distracting. Plus I have 5-10 meetings a week. I miss driving as much I used to though. That’s prime podcast listening time.

 

The one nice thing about working in a grocery store now is that no one (management or customers) seems to care or, tbh, even be surprised that most of us keep one headphone in all the time. Take away “hero pay” and squeeze hours despite the highest profits in the history of your industry, and you’ll find your staff caring less and less about being reprimanded.

 

When I was a delivery driver doing 12 hour shifts I was able to listen to so many podcasts. A lot of them were like 2-3 hours each too. That's just unimaginable for me now.

 

birbiglia was a real “don’t meet your heroes” kinda guy tbh
