I just ordered k95s which should be here next week, it just sucks how there's no messaging

 

Haven't heard of FFP2, but this particular brand of KN95 masks have the best fit out of any other I've tried

Let's put it this way, I am not allowed anywhere without an FFP2 mask as of monday and our whole country has been on lockdown for over a month now.

 

I think FFP2 masks are just what we in Europe call K95s.

 

I’m glad I bought a box two weeks ago, prices are skyrocketing on Amazon the last week. The ones I bought are $20 more right now, and out of stock, than they were just two weeks ago.

I think we should use defense production act and start making/shipping these to everyone in the country.

Some are better than others and some are rated really badly.

Yeah I wanna get kn95s but I have no idea what are legit what are teh scam ones

 

I believe i read that double masking can provide just as much protection though if you're using a medical mask. I've been doing the cloth mask/medical mask on top combo. my cloth mask has a filter pocket too so I might start putting a red shop towel piece in there

 

Yeah I'm shocked the ones I posted are actually discounted atm, I definitely paid more the last time. They aren't on the CDC site you listed but I did the lighter test, I can see the mask expand and contract as I breathe, and by far the least fogging of my glasses vs another brand I tried through my fiancé's cosmetology supplier. Only minor complaint is it's a bit tight around the ears, but that makes me feel more confident that it has a good fit

 

Yeah, I can basically make it 30 min max with one before it kills me. Not like I’m inside anymore than that anyway, but it makes a grocery run a painful experience.

 

Yup we are now obligated now too to wear ffp2 masks in supermarkets and public transportation. All other stores are closed anyways.

My problem is: ffp2 masks have to be thrown away after u wore them for 8 hours. But one mask costs around 2-5 euros, and we have to pay for them ourselves.

Also I have a beard that i probably have to shave off now, as ffp2 apparently only works good when shaven cleanly..

Definitely makes me jealous of those who have the straps that wrap around the back of the head! Haven't been able to find those

 

Wait what’s wrong with cloth masks? We’ve been using double layered cloth masks for almost a year now and this is the first I’m hearing of this.

 

The generic disposable masks are the only remotely comfortable ones imo

 

They’re not as effective as regular masks in general and now the worry is with the new variants that they’ll be even less effective in preventing folks from getting sick

 

I love KN95s and FFP2s as much as the next guy, but the price for actual legit N95s on eBay has come way down, and there are many more available than there used to be.

 

60% effective vs 95% effective , nothing wrong per se we just should be doing better by now

 

I no longer have the urge to refresh this thread every 15 minutes, and I'm not sure how to feel about that.
