Just gave Damage a spin while making dinner. I love that album and think we all underrate it.

 

I def think it’s my least favorite though

i mean, something has to be! I like it more than Invented, and definitely better than Static Prevails and self-titled.

 

Yeah I might like it better than SP actually

 

Invented is better than Damage. I recognize that Damage is better than Static Prevails but I still rank Static Prevails above it because I enjoy Static Prevails more personally and also for nostalgia reasons.

 

Invented, for me, has more weak links. Higher highs too, but it having 2-3 songs I really don't care for is what drops it in my rankings.

 

Damage is fucking great. it’s always a weird feeling how often it gets (relatively) brought up as a weak link in their discog for so many people bc it has always resonated with me pretty strongly. I do think it’s mildly front loaded, but mostly bc the run up to I Will Steal You Back is one of my favorites they’ve done period and nothing besides the closer quite reaches those heights after that. Appreciation is my favorite opener by them probably, even. I’d probably rank it third for me at this point, behind Clarity and Bleed American.

easily Clarity. it’s the better album, by a significant margin, imo. I don’t have nearly the reverence for Futures that most do tho, it’s pretty much dead middle in my ranks.

 

1 - this is amazing, nice work.
2 - as someone who has also heard every one of these albums, I would like to give a special shout-out for how high you rated the supremely underrated Oasis gem - SOTSOG! Don’t run across too many people who appreciate that one!
3 - the only Oasis ranking I will disagree with is having Dig Out Your Soul higher than Heathen Chemistry.
4 - Fuck I miss Oasis lol

heathen chemistry has better songs than dig out your soul but is pretty sloppy overall. i also love the psych rock kinda stuff they messed around with on songs like waiting for the rapture. shock and the lightning is an absolutely a+ single.

Was really digging the 1-2 of "How'd You Have Me" and "No, Never" on this playthrough. A couple of jams!

The only setlist I own is Oasis at Madison Square Garden in 2008.

 

Not as big of a fan of damage, but I do enjoy both versions of You Were Good.
