What is happening

 

You said JEW and Weezer had a similar trajectory, and that it was start with a bang, take a dip, and then come back. You specifically said they took a dip after Chase this Light.

I posted what I did to show that’s simply not true. There was no dip in sales, or reviews. It didn’t exist. And outside of your individual opinion, I’ve never talked to JEW fans who think the band suddenly fell off a cliff.

Weezer has higher sales across the board. Weezer is a bigger band, period. They’ve had massive singles that JEW hasn’t. But that’s immaterial to what you were saying about them having similar career arcs.

Again: Weezer’s inconsistency is so notorious and well known it became an SNL sketch. No one has a similar career arc as Weezer, much less Jimmy Eat World.

Funnily enough, I just saw someone on Twitter comparing the Foo Fighters and Weezer arcs, which I think is probably a more apt comparison.

 

I can’t believe those Surviving sales numbers. That’s a huge drop off.

Honestly, Integrity Blues is my favorite album of theirs at this point and their recent eras are more fitting of what I’m looking for at this point.

Pinkerton is problematic, but good.
