    Wasn't it considered horrifically bad?

It wasn't as atrocious as the review consensus would indicate (comedies rarely are) but it wasn't good.

  6. I saw it in theaters and didn't hate it but I was also 18 lol. I don't like Ted anymore either so I can't imagine this would fare much better

I also saw it in theaters and was 18 or 19 and laughed quite a bit at the first 10 minutes before it gives up being a comedy and becomes a bad Western

Unpopular in some places, but probably not too much here: Family Guy is not funny, especially compared to its contemporaries.

I've never given it a deep dive, but mostly because everytime I've tried I've found it too cruel.

Every episode feels like Homer's Enemy x10

It started fairly funny but ran out of steam and turned into pure formula very quickly

"Family Guy" was perfect for the trans/homophobic, racist, pre-total nostalgia times that was in during its original run. References and randomness counted as jokes, completely cynical and mean. I haven't watched it in years, but I can't believe it's still on. Remember when people were up in arms when Brian died for like one episode?

I re-watched Ted for the first time in years and wow did I not like it at all this time. Seeing it opening weekend with a packed crowd in 2012 was a blast. Now, all these years later without the energy of the room, the jokes just don't work like they did then. Back then, Ted felt like it was an instant comedy classic. Now it feels mostly forgotten, with just the general public being like "oh yea remember the R rated teddy bear movies Seth Macfarlane made?"

A lot of them make the public think too much and yes I feel dumb typing that but I mean it

Wow I just double-checked the films produced by Apatow - Bridesmaids is the biggest one at 288 Million worldwide. Many of the best ones we remember all cracked $100 million which used to be a big deal for a studio movie.

The best Apatow films may not have ever reached the theatrical financial success that first Ted movie ever did, but they did gang-busters on DVD when that actually mattered - as well as actually become beloved classics constantly rewatched on tv. Unlike Ted.

All I remember about Ted 2 (I believe) is the racist ass joke (I haven’t seen it since, there could probably be tons of racist ass jokes in it but one stands out in particular)

Ted 2 was released the day gay marriage was legalized in the United States. Weird coincidence, as the film was actually a courtroom drama sendup about Ted's rights to marry and be a father to a human child.

Also, I saw it with a couple friends in 2015. No one was impressed really this time. Including the audience's half hearted laughs every now and then. America was over it.

Thanks to Norah Jones’ singing abilities, Ted is an Oscar nom.
