Oh cool adults dependents are finally included so I'll actually get this one

Of course, if Congress actually passes it. Who knows if any GOP actually get on board and then Manchin could sink it

Wonder if they're keeping the same income limits on the $1400 and if it's still based on 2019 taxes. I'm guessing that's the case

  3. $1400 checks are so two years ago.

My god the idea of our family getting an extra $4200 right now....I mean we're not even hurting financially because we're both teachers/kept working/getting paid...but it's still a major relief to know that you have a little bit of savings that maybe won't get totally depleted by one emergency. We can use it to get shit fixed around the house that we've been putting off for a year and not eat into whatever savings we have and etc.

That increased child tax credit too...woo.

Increasing the UE to $400 seems okay...would like to see that at $600 but I guess extending it until September would be a big help for a lot of people

Interesting to note that the $10,000 student debt relief Biden kept calling for isn't in his stimulus plan. Wonder if he's talked to some congressional leaders and figured out that it wouldn't pass with that in it?

I thought the $10k was something he could do via executive action.

YEah this is my hope, that it's a signal that he thinks he can get it done via executive action.

What's gonna be funny (read: terrible) is when right wingers sue to stop it and it doesn't actually happen right away because of that lol

It's going to be tough to show standing to sue for it. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head would be the loan servicers, but an injunction wouldn't really be appropriate since the government could just pay them the fees they would have otherwise received.
