Mark confirmed it was true. Tom was upset that Travis was fighting with the promoter from one of their tours in Australia while he was back in California since he didn't make the trip due to the fear of flying. The promoter was making things difficult for the Tom and Mark because of it and it was an uncomfortable situation for everyone. Mark just said it was Tom venting and it was never any serious discussions about kicking him out.

 

I still love Tom and I respect that he wants to do so many different things. Definitely still wish it was him on stage instead of Skiba though

I think Tom will be back at some point. Whatever this EP is going to be Mark and Travis have been talking about I think will be the last piece of music Matt does with them.

 

Tom is ambitious, no doubt. But passion does not always equal talent. He has grand ideas for music, movies, books, etc. But I just don't think he has the talent to do all of them well.

 

Tom hasn't had a good idea since 2003

 

When will She's Out of Her Mind start getting promoted? I feel like it was announced as a single almost 3 weeks ago and yet it still hasn't been getting any radio play. Is this normal?

 

I think we may get more then that with Matt, and I hope that's the case honestly. But I guess it's all speculation at the moment.

 

I don't know if Mark and Travis would ever want to work with Tom again unless it's one their terms and not his. He'll have to compromise and work with those evil producers again and actually have a set schedule to record.

I do worry about what's going to happen after the European tour with Blink next year. It sounds like Mark and Travis will want to get back into the studio and record the following year in early 2018 for a summer release. But who knows what Matt's schedule will be like. You'd think he'll probably try to record a new Alkaline Trio album this fall after the California US tour, then tour with Trio. It's a lot of work for Matt.

 

Well, Matt is a work horse, from what I understand he's made it pretty clear another Trio album will happen. He's use to it to be honest, he just never stops. I think one of the reasons he really doesn't stop because he's not married and doesn't have a family.

 

More music by Matt is fine for me.

I just wonder how he'll be able to do everything and give each one enough time and energy. If he goes back into the studio this fall with Trio then they would probably release the next album in the Spring, maybe a short tour until he goes on tour with Blink over the summer in Europe, then maybe back to touring with Trio in the fall. Then back in the studio in January to record with Blink for another summer 2018 release and tour.

That makes me tired just typing it. But hey if he can do it, great. I wonder what Dan and Derek think of Matt in Blink. I'm sure they're happy for him but they have to be a bit annoyed too having to sit and wait for him too. Matt is always going to be in a tough situation.

 

Honestly Dan and Derek have been pretty busy, Dan tours a lot and The Falcon has picked up a lot of steam and is doing another tour this fall. I know Dan went to the Blink show in Tampa with his wife and both were on the side of the stage. So obviously Dan will always support him. Remember Matt could totally release a third Sekrets album as well.

 

I'd love it if Tom rejoined, and they still went to record with Feldmann. What a crazy clash of sounds and personalities that'd probably be.

 

I am far from the biggest expert but I think I read at least Dan being super supportive.

 

I'd LOVE to hear those conversations between Tom and Feldmann.

 

I'd love to get another Sekrets album. Loved the first two.

Yeah I remember Dan posting stuff about Matt and Blink when BTD dropped being supportive. That's cool of him.

 

Tom: Sounds too much like Goldfinger.

Feldmann: Sounds too much like outer space.

 

If Tom and Travis were to ever do another Box Car album Feldy should jump in on that.

I'm actually listening to Box Car right now, " My First Punk Song " is a rad song.

 

I wonder how differently I would've viewed bcr if that was the first song i heard instead of I feel so.

There is is probably my favorite non blink but related to blink song.

 

This thread is kinda starting to look like the Taylor Swift thread where everyone just focuses on the drama... haha

 

I feel the same way, I think people would have reacted differently if that was the first song released, but in a good way. I think I would have loved it regardless.

 

First impressions are huge for me. It really shaped every blink album for me. First tracks I heard from each album:

Cheshire/Buddha - carousel (it was a very very long time before I listened to anything from those albums besides carousel)
Dude ranch - pathetic
Enema - what's my age again
Toypaj - anthem pt 2 or rock show, don't remember
Untitled - feeling this
Neighborhoods - up all night
Ded - ded
California - bored to death

 

Maybe one more album, even if Matt did more than one more album he could actually push Blink to the side until they do wanna do another album. Because I don't see another album happening for at least another 2 or even maybe 3 years.
