If Mitch finally signals he also supports it, that might get another Republicans to come along to also support it

Yeah if Mitch is a yes vote, I think the chances go up that they can pull the 2/3rds off.

I would not be surprised if it happened... impeaching him might be good for the GOP brand going forward. Depends on whether their leadership is ready to make a clean break with Trumpism.

I tend to think that if only 10 GOP reps were willing to impeach him, we won't get enough to convict him. But McConnell supporting conviction could definitely change the minds of many.

I feel like Mitch would be petty enough to vote to remove him.

So does this mean he officially cannot run in 24 or does the senate need to convict him for that to happen?

If Mitch is a yes vote then why does he want to drag this out into a trial

Senate actually has to pass a different resolution for that. That resolution does not need a 2/3rds majority though like the conviction. I think that is what I read in a tweet lol.

Yeah I think that would technically require a 2nd/separate vote

Tulsi would definitely have voted "present" again and so for that I am so grateful she is not in the house anymore

Definitely wonder if Mitch wants to give him a Fuck You on the way out.

I dont get why they arent talking about extortion to overturn election results - the georgia phonecall. that was the other article of impeachment right? if THAT is not impeachable and bulletproof easy to understand then NOTHING has EVER been.

  15. I think Mitch wants Trump out of the GOP for good. I mean he definitely loves the Trump agenda, he just wants someone more competent to run with it.

maybe. the House operates alot differently than the Senate. Senate is much more rank and file. the new loonies in the House are going to especially embody the rot thats gonna be left behind by Trump on capital hill that we will have to worry about moving forward - what with some of them explicitly aiding and abetting the terrorists or being terrorists themselves.

Correct but also they would need to vote to remove him first.

So, this is winning? Two impeachments are better than one?

Trial in the Senate will not take place until the next normal session according to The Turtle, so the 19th I believe.
