Our youngest turns 3 in April, so we were trying to get one last trip in while she's still free to get in. Talking with friends who have gone recently, they've all said they felt rather safe/clean. And the military discounts help out greatly for us.

We pretended that our (now 5 year old) daughter was under 3 for well over a year after her third birthday.

lol we're moving in July and hitting up a lot of Cedar Fair and other parks between MA and OK, i'm sure we'll be doing the same (since she turns 3 in late April)

    Also... wow.

Cannot wait to ride that. Islands of Adventure is my favorite park, and this makes me even more excited to go back.

On the real though, have any of you gone to WDW since the pandemic?

We've gone to two theme/amusement parks over the last year (Quassy and Canobie) and the flight prices ($50 RT) and hotel/ticket deals are just too good to pass up for WDW in late FEB/early MAR.

Nah there’s no way I’d ever go to a theme park during the pandemic

Yeah, I just can’t do it.

My sister-in-law went during halloween and thought the protocols in place were solid. She said the staff at Disney were miserable and rude, which... I find hard to believe.

Same. I’m not risking my health and the health of those I come in contact with to ride some rides.

It was not so bad when the parks were first reopened because attendance was low, but the crowds have increased and Disney increased their capacity. Florida is way behind in mask wearing, so the parks are actually safer than a lot of other places.

Yes, but you really shouldn’t be going anywhere you don’t absolutely have to right now, and should be avoiding crowded areas at all costs.

I have a trip booked for Sept with the hopes of being vaccinated by then. Haven’t been anywhere since the pandemic started though

Wtf is Disney doing. I wonder if they'll do something like Universal; tiered APs for different times of the year? I never had a Disney AP so I'm not sure if they did that already.

they're not going to be able to reopen Disneyland for a while so they are scrambling to figure out what to do

yeah DL is gonna be closed a while, and eventually people are going to (if they have not already) start demanding money back, so they're probably just getting ahead of that.

WDW already does tiered hotel prices and park admission prices, so it would not surprise me to see this process go across the board for APs as well.

  21. When Disneyland does reopen, it’ll likely be at a limited capacity. There are so many APs here, there’d be no way to mitigate the demand between APs and single/ multiple day ticket/ package guests. If everyone were a flex pass holder, it’d be easier to limit the APs that can access the park during those times. For example, people with premier passes being turned away at the gate would have been such a PR headache. Sure they might get turned away on the 4th of July or New Years for standard capacity limits but they’ll likely get to this theoretical new “capacity” with single day guests in a heartbeat. Get rid of the APs for 5 years or so and revamp it to something new - maybe all flex passes with different perks/ tiers? I’m excited to see yet super bummed I’ve lost my grandfathered parking perk

I'm surprised it took longer to address the Jungle Cruise than Splash Mountain. It is overtly racist, whereas Splash Mountain requires knowledge of a cultural reference that many aren't going to have.
