if congress people are priveleged from arrest there's no reason some of these GOP members of congress shouldn't be getting their ass kicked on the floor on a weekly basis

 

The thing that frustrates me about most politicians is how "above it all" they feel they are, irrespective of party (though it's a much more brazen display in Republicans).

I know this isn't a new take, but the mentality of "How dare you think about [investigating/accusing] me of anything! Just trust me! I'm an elected official!" drives me up a wall. Precisely because of shit like this.

As I was told when my high school did random searches of students belongings (including occasional requiring students to walk through metal detectors): "If you have nothing to hide, there's no reason to complain." If we're willing to subject 14-year-olds to that logic, I see no reason why not do the same to those supporting a coup.
