I've been on that Devonta Smith hype train since he spanked Derrick Stingley when Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs couldn't.

 

Shaun Wade looked not so good last night. I know he was against an elite offense but that was bad lol

 

I've been on that Shaun Wade hype train too so after last night I'm netting a cool 0.

 

Shaun Wade is going to get overdrafted. Where do the Raiders pick? Maybe they can pair him with the rest of their awful draft picks that played in the CFBP.

If anything JaMarr Chase is similar to Marvin Harrison, play style wise

Plenty. He doesn’t remind me of the colts WRs at all

 

The another CB is Stingley. He was CB1

 

I’m not saying Smith isn’t amazing I just don’t think he has a similar play style

hes compared to Marvin Harrison because of his frame

I don't think Devonta is going to run a 4.38 like Harrison did...he will likely be high 4.4s

 

I can see the comparison of the mix

 

Jamarr Chase has a good 30 pounds on Marvin Harrison...not sure how they are comparable

Chase reminds me a lot of Calvin Ridley

 

I feel like 6’1” 175 is a pretty common body frame for a speedy receiver though haha. It’s a lot of them not just Harrison

and really? I think Smith is FASTER than Harrison while Harrison was more of a technician.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Smith ran low 4.3

 

Because I’m comparing play styles not body types? Body type is a weak angle to make a comparison from tbh

 

Ridley is a much better comparison yeah.

Real tough comparison to make imo. There are a lot of great route runners but Harrison was the best. He and Manning were ludicrously precise about the tiniest details. Harrisons routes were so crisp they looked more robotic than human

I don’t even think Harrison becomes the super-elite route runner he was without having Manning at QB

Idk man. I think of Harrison as “computer-like precision route runner.”

I genuinely think Devonta Smith’s style is more liberal and he’s more of a loose runner that can capitalize on his speed. Harrison wasn’t a true burner like that. I actually think Smith plays more like OBJ.

Harrison’s skillset was extremely good footwork, consistent timing down to the millisecond, and hand fighting mid-route. Harrison didn’t run openly like a gazelle like that, he was a deliberate, angry looking, stop-start runner and it gave him a very different style than Smith.

Harrison mostly got open deep off of very convincing double moves, for example, while Smith as a straight up nine-route threat single handedly changes the way CBS have to play him.
