Maybe I'm just blind but is there anyway to have the Tour Discussion subforum have a link within the Music forum? I like that you can reach it from the home forum page but it seems strange you can't reach it from within the forum it's considered a part of.

Wouldn't it be easier to just let people put in custom fields? That way next year when <insert hip new startup here> takes off you don't have to do extra work to support it.

I don't know if I'd want to make it that open for just adding a billion urls to a profile. I feel like that would be abused.

 

Probably will be what I do once we have more of those on the site.

 

Just cap people at like three custom ones. (I imagine that is easier from a database perspective too)

 

I'd love to see a "Up to top" button always featured on the site to make it easier to get back to the top. Or a Facebook styled header always there at the top of the window for easier navigation.

 

would love the ability to hyperlink urls in the custom title field, maybe as a supporter perk? would be helpful for linking to bandcamp, soundcloud, blog, etc.

 

On iOS you can tap the status bar. On desktop I think it's command + up or page up. I've been using those a lot lately.

I didn't really like keeping the header on the top at all times because when I tried it made the page too jumpy and it didn't scroll as well as I wanted it to. It felt far more in the way than helpful.

 

So basically having like 3 or 4 more "homepage" spots in the profile? I'll make a note.

 

iOS is too easy to go to the top, was just referring to desktop viewing. I did not know that shortcut, I'll start doing that from now on. Thanks.

 

no i meant the custom titles! like the lines of the text under your avatar when you post. would be cool to be able to do "text here" and have it link directly to the url in question

 

Ohhhhhhh, yeah, that's definitely on the list for supporters at least in the future. Just gonna take me some time to get to it probably.

 

Definitely agree. It's a weird balance to walk. Hah. I just have never loved the little like "go up" buttons on pages and never use them because of the extra javascript/mark-up involved to do something that's built into the browser.

 

In the Contact Details could we get a Steam ID field for the PC gamers?

 

Would be helpful for stickied posts to have a different color, easier to find where new posts start.

Would it be possible to get a little icon for followed threads between the inbox and clock thing? Two clicks isn't that bad but I like dreaming big.

Will it be possible to follow specific artists as on ap.net? It's not a big deal, but a useful feature if I have to miss a few days on the site.

 

Really digging some of the new features on the site. Really excited about the transition. One thing I'm curious about with the news feed on the front page: Is there going to be something similar to the band icons that accompanied news stories on AP.net? I always found that was a great way to keep an eye out on things I was specifically interested in when browsing through the front page quickly.

 

I saw Jason already acknowledged this one, but I thought I'd throw in my appreciation for something like this. Even if it is a Prestigious only perk.

On the roadmap. The tag pages are way better, but the idea of a customized news feed is definitely something I still dream about, it just didn't make it to this first launch. I'm sorry.

There are individual RSS feeds per tag in the meantime. Not a great solution, I know.

Yes and no. I can do a lot of things with displaying images on the homepage (just changed the main post on there right now to put the image on the corner instead), and I can put an image with each and every post on the homepage, but right now my goal is to get that thing loading as fast as possible, and then I'll play with that more.

Yeah it's on the list as something I want to do.

 

Xbox live gamertag, PSN ID, Battle.net ID, Origin ID, DS Friend Code. That's all I can think of right now.

Not happening and here's why.

 

I'm not going to read the whole thread so it's entirely possible that this has been already discussed but i wish the sponsor wasn't in the middle of the threads. Obviously it's understandable that when it's in the middle of everything more people are likely to see and actually read it. I'm just wondering if you're planning on doing anything about it.


I also wish the background was just a tad bit darker so the posts would stand out a bit more and were easier to read. Right now it's hard to focus on the posts as everything is blending together.
