I get this, I really really do, I teach like this honestly....but at the same time, the good parts of America being an example to the world IS a good thing, and no matter how ridiculous we may find it becuase we live here, the symbolism of America and everything it has accomplished and eveyrthing it could be does mean a lot to people around the world. It's part of why so many people want to come here.

I'm not trying to chide or argue with you or anything, but...I get thi sentiment here. If you're an outsider where you're not drowning in the reality of all the shitty things we've done daily, seeing this happen here can be jolting and depressing.
