I just saw a small demonstration on IG that makes it’s pretty apparent Wonderboy is also highly trained in Bojutsu (martial arts with a staff) and man, what I would give to see him compete in that field haha.

Also he got 20 stitches in his forehead for that headbutt.

Yeah, I felt bad for Neal in that fight because that clash of heads took some of his vision away but it was clearly no picnic for Wonderboy either. That’s one of the only times I can remember both guys calling timeout after an accidental headbutt.

  9. I’m completely fine with that. We need a new champ there and those two are just as worthy as anyone else for the initial title fight. The division will sort itself out over the next year.

  10. Khabib gave his blessing for it.

also said he’s not coming back but he’s gonna sit down with Dana soon and talk.

Khabib doesn’t seem to be getting up for anyone but GSP. I respect that. But I also don’t want to see GSP come out of retirement at this point.

  12. His legit quote was he’d come back to fight Ali but he’s no longer alive lol.

    agreed

he's the GOAT in my eyes and doesn't need to come back to prove himself to anyone imo

Yeah as is, he has ended on his second division championship, great win streak, and already past the comebackfromretirementandbeatatopcontender milestone. He faced the best of the best during his time and looked great in every aspect of the fight game.

    He gains nothing fighting Khabib.

  15. so long as the next champ doesn’t try to move up or whatever, LW’s in a really good place for the foreseeable future

Very much hoping Dustin takes it. Conor is scum.

  17. It’s probably better for the division if Dustin wins. But I think Conor will finish him.

GSP just put on his Instagram story, "New year, new team. Announcement tomorrow. #ZeroRegrets" Trying not to look into it too much, but it really makes me wonder what he's getting at.

Edit: He clarified it's not a fight announcement. Still intrigued though. Hopefully he's not just announcing some sponsorship. hahaha.

I just don't care about Izzy v Jan at all.

I really don’t either. There are so many LHW matchups I’d prefer to see for Jan than this. I know he’s confident but he doesn’t see that his first title defense is entirely a layup for Izzy’s career. It’s big if he beats him, but I don’t think he will.

Guess the best way to look at it is that both those divisions are basically cooked anyway. I still would have rather have Izzy/Rob and Jan/Glover, then have Izzy/Jan fight each other off wins, but those two match ups wouldn't get me excited either. So it's a complete wash.
