Houston plays Tennessee week 17...so that means if Tennessee loses tonight, it gives Houston a worse SOS % and that pick should be 3rd overall for Miami right?

This is the best fresh start we’ve ever had as a franchise. I mean god damn. We might be the best 1-15 team for a new quarterback in a long time. We have a lot of pieces on offense for being a sorry ass team, including a couple of franchise offensive linemen.

If the Cardinals kick the Rams out of the playoffs next week (which I want them to do anyway, because I love ARI and hate LAR) we could literally go Lawrence / Bateman or Lawrence / Pitts and already have a threatening power-spread offense. My god that would rule.

or maybe an amazing defensive player somehow falls like every year. Patrick Surtain II might even be worth trading up for.

I think if they aren't completely sold on selling the farm and replacing Teddy then I doubt it.

 

we’d probably rather just wait and see who falls to us. Lance at #9 and sitting behind Teddy for a year would be absolutely fine with me.

 

We may not even draft a QB honestly. I think they’ll be looking to improve OL and DB. If a QB they like falls then sure but I don’t think they’ll trade a bunch of assets to get one.

It’s also hard to predict with a new GM coming in. It’d be pretty bold to trade future assets as first order of business.

 

Jets are going to hire Wink Martindale and draft a nose tackle at #2

 

I’m not against taking Pitts at #9 IF we address OL in free agency.

That’s a very potent offense even with Teddy for another season.

 

I can't get behind taking a tight end in the top ten. Pitts could run a 4.4 flat and I'd be against it unless you are converting him to receiver full-time. He already blocks like a WR.

He is a jumbo slot receiver and a mismatch from hell, but look around the league. The best tight ends are George Kittle (5th round), Travis Kelce (3rd Round), and Darren Waller (6th Round).

It's not a premium position. Take a tackle, a corner, or trade up for a QB.

Life at #9 isn't so bad in this completely realistic scenario.

 

The trade that I think is actually realistic for the jets is trading down with the bengals or iggles, get some extra picks, still get chase, one of the qbs, or parsons. Unless the niners give up a haul. They also probably ask atl about Ryan if they end up taking a qb.
