In all this was kinda slow and boring which is unfortunate cause I really enjoyed the first one. Gal herself was pretty boring too. I don’t know if it was her performance or what she was given to work with, but in all she felt pretty stale and lifeless. Meanwhile Chris Pine and Pedro especially felt lively as hell.

 

Did I just see WW lasso a cloud? And since when does she fly? I wanted to like this movie but once she made her wish to get Steve back and it got all windy (This is a windyass movie too) I was like, “Oh..so that’s how they bring him back? Mmkay...”

 

If I was only mildly looking forward to this should I not even bother then lol

 

I’d like to know why nukes can appear out of nowhere but Steve has to possess a body?

Why did Wiig’s character get a second wish?

 

I think Pedro gave her some of what he was taking from other people? I don’t know I was half paying attention at that point.

 

I don't think I'd call this great, but it was definitely entertaining for the most part. I'll echo Gal's acting wasn't fantastic, but she's just so likeable in this role that I'm able to get passed that. Pedro Pascal and Kristen Wiig werethe highlights 100%

 

It was kind of entertaining while watching, but also a huge mess. Way too long. Won't be rushing to rewatch it.

tough crowd. i liked this even though i get most of the criticisms. moved kinda breezy for 2.5+ hours long

 

She was basically flying in the first one, with some assistance from the other soldiers. They could have explained it, but her skills could have easily evolved over time.

I believe the whole wind blowing their hair back when they make a wish goes along with the ‘80s movie pastiche of characters stumbling upon something that grants their greatest desires (“Weird Science,” “Zapped!”). But the movie doesn’t really follow through with the goofiness of it, so it just seems out of place.

 

It’s a mess of a movie that feels extremely pointless once it’s over.

 

This was a bummer. I was really rooting for it the whole time, but the more I think about it, the more I dislike it.

 

I am genuinely surprised by the reaction to this movie. In a world where we have non-stop quippy Marvel movies (which I love) and overly “edgy” DC movies (which I also generally enjoy), I thought this was really refreshing in that it was just a fun ride that felt like “comic-booky” in all the right ways, to me anyway, without being a joke-fest or hardo movie.

For the most part the explanations of what was happening worked for me and I don’t need that much in a movie where we have an ancient race of Amazon warriors and magic crystals.

I know a lot of you all were looking forward to this so I’m sorry that it wasn’t that enjoyable. Anyways, here’s hoping we don’t get the douchebags making a fuss about this as an example of why we shouldn’t have female led and directed movies!

 

This movie flat out sucked. Like nothing about it felt 80s. Toss in some songs, more neon or something. Also, out of nowhere it was 4th of July and everyone is shocked? Why is she telling the homeless guy to stay warm if it's 4th of July? Trains existed in the early 1900s when Steve was alive. So many bad things.

 

It’s interesting to compare to Shazam! (Which I saw for the first time days ago) . Both were going for very similar tone but where Shazam was able to embrace the corniness of a superhero tale WW84 falls flat completely

 

The 80s was before climate change, duh! Haha kidding - that’s actually a good callout. Doesn’t ruin the sentiment with respect to Barbara’s character for me but it could have been easily changed to make more sense.

 

It is pointless. You had this global disaster take place and it’s never mentioned or referenced in any DC films that take place in modern day. If a writer is going to develop a prequel at least not have it contain global consequences that would definitely be talked about within a few decades. That’s one of the reasons I dislike most prequel films in franchises.

 

This. I was wondering both of these things. Drives me crazy.
