That first Crosses ep slaps still. Even tho the “album” was disappointing

 

Still hoping for another Team Sleep record one day

Gonna have to backpedal on this - makes more sense now that I know this is a cover of a 1990 track by the synth-pop band Cause & Effect.

Still a great track.

The end of "Phantom Bride" goes so goddamn hard

And that Jerry Cantrell solo before the last chorus..... what a fucking track that is.

 

Phantom Bride holds a really special place in my heart. it encapsulates a period in my life where nothing was moving and everything felt too heavy. was kind of a wake-up call to do something about it.

 

Has anyone else seen the fan-made promo video for Phantom Bride that uses clips from the movie Her with Joaquin Phoenix?

Whoever made that did a fantastic job. I've watched that video countless times during late-night YouTube wormholes.

 

On some re-listens I do still like this album a lot, but don’t know if it lands in the top 5 releases.

 

I think it comes in at #4 for me, between S/T and Gore.

 

Ceremony is a top ten all time Deftones song.

 

All i can say for sure atm is I'd rank this above adrenaline, atf and gore, and quite possibly above s/t and kny. It probably won't outpace the rest but only time will tell.

 

This is literally exactly how I feel.

 

it’s currently in my top 3, behind S/T and ATF.

 

It's in a tier with White Pony and Koi No Yokan for me at the top.

 

Absolutely adore this album, but just in terms of my eoty list it was just a stacked year.
