Basket Case 2 tonight. Can't say it's as good as the first, but the design and effects are absolutely wild

Anybody seen Black Christmas (2019)?

 

I've started it twice and shut it off pretty quick both times lol

 

I think it's alright.

 

I still watch the 2006 version annually.

 

I happened to watch the end of it on HBO

 

I don't remember this one at all but know I've seen it. I seriously doubt it was as offensively bad though

 

2019 was fine.

Can't stop thinking about how much I hate the kid in Better Watch Out.

 

Probably going to try and give 2019 a swing next week. I've heard some mixed things, but nothing as negative as this thread seems to be. Although the PG-13 rating has me a little concerned.

Although I’m sure it would be better than the other remakes, just leave the franchise as it is. And I really enjoy the Halloween remake and look forward to the next two.

Man, I actually thought the first two-thirds of Black Christmas 2019 were really solid...heavy handed, sure, but it's well shot, tightly paced, and tackles its themes head-on. But the twist at the end...woof. The final act almost felt pulled from an entirely different film. Crazy tonal shift to the point where it brought down my experience, but honestly might have some cult appeal in the future.

 

This is in reference to the Netflix show? There’s another RE adaptation in the works too, but I can’t remember what format.

 

I think live action. Netflix series is CGI

 

I'll say its kinda horror adjacent, but The Call on Netflix is great.

 

High key hope it does gain a cult following. Just did a rewatch of it and it's really not that bad. Aside from the final act like you said.
