i can agree with that, especially the lyrics to the song Futures. Theyre fine but the most dated of the bunch. Man, that moment in "Just Tonight" when Jim sings "All at once the music stopped, the feeling went away" and all the music save for his guitar cuts out is fucking amazing to me. Maybe my favorite individual moment on that album.

Definitely. If You Dont, Dont shouldve been huge and My Sundown is an underrated JEW closer.

This band has some of the best and most treasured B-sides out there. Seriously some fantastic stuff.

Never really thought of any song besides the title track opening Futures, but I could definitely see Just Tonight being a great opener. It has that type of energy, for sure.

Hey now. Look at you. Way cool.

Yo. New member here. Jimmy have been my favourite band for 15 years and there aren't enough places online to talk about them anymore so I came here. Anyone used to be on the BBS JEW message board?

Anyway I'm pretty hyped for the new album. I really want it to be atmospheric and dark like Futures. Though I do love Damage, they have done that now so I want them to move on from its style.

I'm in love with the single artwork. The album one needs to be similar. Dark and melancholic yet cozy and romantic. Just like their music.

The good news was that we were able to make sure that our tickets didn't go unused. So two people got to see that show because we couldn't. I'm at least happy about that. I know that tour was pretty limited in dates.

Oh, I'm totally there with you. I'm just glad the version that is on the album is the one they chose.

I think not being able to vote in 2004 was good for me, because it meant that I never related either "Futures" the song or American Idiot the album to politics very heavily. I was definitely aware of what was going on, but both of those works are things I relate to more personal things that were going on in my life then, especially "Futures." As a result, neither is particularly dated for me.

Really like the art direction for "Sure and Certain" also. Can't wait to see the album artwork.

Every time I hear "I hope for better...in November" I am taken back to 2004 and can't help but think you're about to be real disappointed there, Jim.

I'm really digging the new single. Sounds like something that would have been off "Stay On My Side Tonight".

I remember waiting on pins on needles to finally get my hands on Burnout 3 because that game had "Just Tonight" on it's soundtrack. That was the first song they released from Futures and you could only hear it that way(at least that's the way I knew the facts at the time). That was a special moment because both Burnout 3 and that song are awesome.

(that soundtrack was incredible. Motion City Sountrack[how I was introduced to them], Atreyu, Autopilot Off, Amber Pacific, My Chemical Romance, Sugarcult, Pennywise, Yellowcard, Maxeen, New Found Glory, Funeral For A Friend, Fall Out Boy..... plus more.... shit...... That was my introduction to around 6 of those bands and they went on to be very big bands for me)

That was the best soundtrack ever. My friend still has that game and we played it earlier this summer. So fun.

Did this yesterday with my twin infants (4 months) before I even knew the new song existed. I happened to pull up this site and saw it so quickly downloaded and we had a listen (or 3).

Listened to Futures on my commute to work this morning. Seriously one of the greatest albums ever. The production is perfect, the songwriting is top notch. It's easy to take for granted how reliably great this band is.

I wish Apple Music had more b-sides. Really want to hear them today and didn't bring my old trusty iPod.

Hi. As much as I love this band I have never really delved into their B sides and tracks not on their albums (although Stay On My Side Tonight is one of my favorite JEW releases). Would anyone care to list out their "must listen" b sides for me? Strangely enough I remember listening to a JEW song in like 5th grade (my sister got me into them at a young age) that had the lyrics "I want my kisses back" or something and I remember it being awesome. Oh, and I remember listening to a version of Bleed American (the album) that was different to the one I have now, I don't know if they were demos or what but the other version is how I grew up knowing the songs and then discovered later that they weren't the final versions.

Ok, that's the end of my horribly put together, all over the place post

Hey now. Look at you. Way cool.

The song "I want my kisses back" is called No Sensitivity and is a B-side to their Bleed America-era music. Should easily be able to find the song online, it's on the deluxe reissue of the album. Yeah there is a demo version of Bleed American and I remember the demo version of Hear You Me being shared around a lot more than the album version. The demo version of Hear You Me is still on youtube I'm pretty sure.

As for their best b-side? Be Sensible is definitely up there, That's a B-side of the Chase This Light era and was released as a bonus track on the UK version of the album. Definitely check that out, it doesn't sound like the rest of Chase This Light and is more classic JEW style.

The song you're thinking of is "No Sensitivity." That and "The Most Beautiful Things" off the deluxe release of Bleed American are musts. You mentioned Stay On My Side Tonight, which is what else I would definitely recommend (Disintegration!). The deluxe also has a few other b-sides and demos, which is likely what you remember listening to. They do a nice cover of "We Are Never Every Getting Back Together" that I like haha. It's on the iTunes session EP. They also played it live on Conan. There's also the Firestarter EP and a couple of songs of the deluxe version of Invented. I'm sure I'm missing some, but those are some to get you started.

I like the new song, and can't wait to hear the album. I'm a big fan, and hopefully I get to see them on this tour. They're one of the bands I desperately want to see that I haven't yet!

Open Bar Reception is undoubtably their best b-side and possibly my favorite b-side of all time.

No Sensitivity would be a very very close second

No Sensitivity and Be Sensible should've been album tracks.
