well... the wife loved it? But she's been looking forward to this since she found out about it...and we got to see it at our drive-in with our dogs so...that always helps.

Thought this was pretty boring. Other than Timon and Pumba, thought most of the voice acting was bland. The songs were boring. I actually liked that they tried something with Be Preared, but the rest of the covers were very forgettable. Not as bad as Dumbo, but I'll actually say I liked Aladdin better, and i wasn't big on Aladdin.

 

Watching this now and kinda hate it. The animation of the animals just feels so damn weird.

 

I forgot this even came out. I’ll have to catch it streaming sometime.

 

Prolly just gonna be on Disney+

Watched the first half of the movie. It wasn’t very good.. I’ll probably finish it up some point down the road, but the voices just didn’t go with the characters imo and/or they just weren’t that good. The lack of emotion/expressions from the animals took me out of it. Major bummer. Swing and a miss.

I still can't believe 1917 won that. HULK WAS SO HOT.

I watched this movie one time. I don’t have a desire to rewatch it. Mulan was great. I feel like they did that one right. I’m not really big on the live action remakes. I just want new original stories.

I'd rather watch a brand new story in that universe with Jenkins's touch than another shitty remake. Get that Disney money, Barry!

Hans Zimmer and Lion King will always be a great match

 

There’s 0 chance I ever see this remake or that upcoming prequel (not sure why I even decided to open this thread), but I will say this:

Last time Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams, & at least one other person collaborated on a film, the outcome was the Amazing Spider-Man 2 score, which is a criminally underrated score. So, at least the music is probably gonna be good.

 

I hope Scar starts off super silly and cute in the prequel, but then something happens to him at the end to turn him into a villain hahaha...

No one actually wants a Lion King prequel though, right??
