People are deciding the odds of them getting a serious case are worth the risk. It's not a smart or selfless decision but I'm not surprised that's the one many are making

someone said a good troll move for them earlier but making him person of the year this year, the year he loses, after not doing so the year he won the election, would be a good troll that he would definitely not be in on the joke for lol

 

So my 8th grade son is reading about Anne Frank, learning about nazi’s and how horrific the world was in the 40’s...and then shares this headline with me;

What logic is this? Literally naming someone Person of the Year is not a troll in the slightest lol. Especially for an egomaniac who thinks any award he gets is deserved. The best troll is to make him rot in jail for the rest of his miserable life, not presenting him with an award for losing an election he is claiming he never lost.

 

Remember when they named Bono and Bill Gates person of the year under “Good Samaritans”? If Time went under and we got no more of these things it would be a net positive.

 

As a health care provider it felt nice. I've had family members say that doctors are fake diagnosing covid to make money while at the same time I've had med school friends end up as patients in the ICU after caring for covid patients. Many of them took pay cuts (which matters when you're 200-300k deep in debt). So many are suffering from depression and anxiety now...I'm sure ptsd will hit us in a few years.

So it felt nice for me personally.

 

It is so funny to me that when you click on the link, they specify they got the Favreau dingus from Pod Saves and not the one that directed the original movie

I realize it's because the director Favreau and Will Ferrell didn't get along, but it's still so funny to see *from pod saves america

 

Wow. I didn't know there was bad blood between them. Was never mentioned in the new Netflix show. Guess the saving grace is they don't make an unnecessary sequel like Anchorman 2.

lol was it really that hard to just think about for a minute instead of going for the dunk? He was so upset that he didn’t get it the year he won the election, that naming it to him now and then having people write a bunch of stories and blurbs about Joe beating him is the best and most impactful thing Trump’s done would be hilarious and the fact that he wouldn’t even be smart enough to be in on the joke of it would give me some laughs for a long while.

 

It's not a troll, it would literally continue to inflate his ego, enable those that think he's some savior, and would also be an insult to the health providers that are also eligible for the cover

but anything for a weird David laugh right

 

It would be a horrible look to name him person of the year over the healthcare workers helping with the pandemic and the folks protesting police brutality this year.

 

they’re not gonna do health care workers again, it’ll be the “essential workers” like others have said. Which health care will be a part of that of course just they did health care specific a few years back with Ebola IIRC.

And yes! Anything for a laugh for me! as others have said it doesn’t really matter much or is that important and Trump is going to tout how great he is no matter what

 

Obviously he's going to tout how great he is regardless, but we don't need something else to inflate his ego. This will just add on to him touting, rather than give him less to tout about.

We should ask the families of the 300,000+ people who died (and many more who got sick) under Trump's mishandling of this virus if they think he should get person of the year!

Yall...they literally gave it to Hitler and Stalin before lol. Its not always about the person or persons being super good or great. It’s about impact. And I made a joke about how they could use it to troll him. I swear it’s not that deep.

I guess you could make the case that they gave him a good troll when they named the media to it in 2018 (which I think was spurred of the Khashoggi murder?).
