Well, they do that partly because there is a lot of time lost while actually making and shipping the discs

Been playing it on base PS4 and here are my thoughts no one asked for!

    1) Game look okay, sometimes good to great but honestly I don't care as much about graphics than a lot of people haha
    2) Played about 3.5 hours so far and had one crash when walking to my car, people walking through gates which I just opened and the AI in cars being stupid. They'll be driving then stop when the light is green and just not move at all lmao
    3) Had an AI jump off a building, land and when I go to check on him there's no trace of him ever being there apart from some guts on the floor.
    4) There are some noticeable FPS drops when in the city at daytime, reminds me of being in Velen the first time on The Witcher 3 because of those drops.

Apart from that, the actual game is enjoyable and I'm still looking forward to playing more!

here's a really great video on how the different consoles look when playing the game

That indeed all sounds like Witcher 3.

I don’t think this game gets a “fair” shot anymore. It’s impossible to simply trust both good and bad reviews because the whole conversation about this game is so tainted at this point.

This is not me taking a side btw. I won’t touch this game until I have a Series X.

Yeah, I'm not trying to review this or anything haha just thinking out loud. The people who want to play it, will have played it anyway. I'm sure there's enough people on the fence that are like you and just waiting until they get a new console to properly experience it, which is definitely fair. I'll be doing multiple playthroughs so I'm gonna do one now and then do another when I get a PS5 just to really see the difference haha

sounds like cyberpunk basically doesn't work on PS4 and Xbox One. there seems to be graphical issues on next gen as well. what a mess

Yeah it was perfect for me on stadia, sucks to see so many people have problems so early

The issues definitely suck for the people that were looking forward to it, and for the devs that will inevitably be doing overtime to fix it all, but it's possibly the best advert going for Stadia - a game with a massive patch already (and likely several more coming), that requires insane power to work properly (seems to be much better on more powerful PCs). Stadia allows anyone to play it almost instantly day one.

Stadia might not be the answer long-term, or even short term for many games, but I'm absolutely fascinated to see how it's developing and finding its market.

People on Twitter are really pissed off at CDPR right now and rightfully so. Also, people are still being mad unhelpful with “JuSt BuY a Ps5!!1!1” tweets.

Also worth noting that GoT not only is pretty and has a detailed world to roam in, but the load times are stupid fast for a game that looks like that.

so I played Cyberpunk for 2 hours last night and no bugs/crashes and while I'm not a huge spec/tech savvy person, I didn't notice any noticeable performance issues and I'm playing on a gaming laptop. It seemed to handle it super well (RTX 2070 max-Q card).

As for the game itself, I need more time but my initial thoughts are similar to the witcher 3 and that it may just not be for me. The amount of stuff to do is simply overwhelming. I've been picking up objects left and right and I have no idea what any of it is for and the menus and sub menus is pretty absurd. I won't say it's a bad game because of that, as it's a lot of peoples cups of teas, but I really prefer a good streamlined campaign with great pacing vs these open world behemoths, especially since a lot of them are just 'figure it out' kind of games.

Again though, I've barely done shit and I can't wait to play more later but at some point I feel I'll hit a brick wall and get fatigued. I can't imagine finishing this and I also feel that if anyone watching me play or looked at my stats, they'd be like 'you missed this/that/this'. I'll probably play 30 hours and not know I could have done a game changing upgrade or something.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Those games are also developed by Sony studios, so yeah, I'd be pretty shocked if they didn't run well on the platform they were built from the ground up to run on

It's also pretty clear the scope and size of that game kept getting larger and larger over development, but by the time next gen came around, they probably financially still need to release it on prior gen, and this is the result. I'm sure patches will come at the expense of a lot more crunch which really sucks.

I love games where everything seems overwhelming at first because I love the feeling of eventually settling into it all. It doesn’t get too old too quick. That JRPG life

Once I’m done building my PC I’ll get Cyberpunk. Seems like a wise move to just wait instead of playing it on Xbox one

The funniest thing about the Cyberpunk debacle to me is how many people clearly only worship CDPR because they put 100+ hours into Witcher 3 a year or more after it originally launched. Like, that game was a *complete* mess on console when it came out. Took them months to patch the game post-launch. But because people didn’t worship the ground that CDPR walked on at the time, there wasn’t a total internet meltdown like there is now.

Basically, this situation was entirely predictable and CDPR should not be placed on any kind of pedestal by anyone (and not just because of the game being a disaster at launch. Let’s not forget about the clear issues they have with transphobia).

For those who are familiar with PC gaming, I was hoping to build a gaming PC before my loan payments kick in, however, I don’t think that will be feasible.

So I’m wondering how the experience is with gaming laptops (which are considerably cheaper)? I’m looking to play games like Total War, Cuvilization builders, Apex-type games.

I also would like something that could handle running Wonderdraft (a map making software), for making some home brew D&D campaign material. The recommended graphics card is a Nvidia GTX 760.

I’ve been doing all the research for PCs, and want to make sure I don’t waste my time looking for a gaming laptop if people don’t think they are worth the money.

I mean CDPR puts a lot of detail and worth into their games that not many other studios do. They deserve the recognition and it’s no surprise cyberpunk was the most preordered game in history

I could see this becoming similar to a No Man's Sky situation where the launch was a disaster, but the devs slowly fixed and updated things. At least I hope that's the way it goes. I'm not even going to bother trying to play it for a while.

ime gaming laptops are more expensive than what you can build and they have problems with heat dissipation - which means you’re gonna have your gpu and cpu mechanically throttled. I would never consider a gaming laptop again personally.
