I understand where you're coming from, and I apologize if the analogy feels insensitive. I do think it works though... a critique that something "could be better" is not the same as finding overt and specific fault with it. I asked a good faith question about the negatives of the potential AG appointment and was hoping for a specific answer. That's all, not trying to rile anyone up.

Follow up testing isn't useful because even when you're through the worst of it, there can still be what's essentially residual virus that activates the test as "positive" and confuses the whole system (because it assumes you have fresh symptoms). After the 10-14 day period, if symptoms have abated for more than 36 hours, there's a 99.99999999% chance you can't spread it anymore and that's good enough for medical professionals.

If you can afford it, my doctor recommend getting an antibody blood test 21 days after your positive symptom to see where you're at. I also donate convalescent plasma every few weeks, which is nice because they give your blood an antibody test and you get kind of reverse confirmation that you've still got them.

The contact tracing is a big miss on the overall country's part. What state do you live in? In PA, the Department of Health will call you to gather some info, but unless you've downloaded a state-sponsored app for contact tracing it isn't going to help others much. Generally it's on citizens to do their own contact tracing, which is part of the reason it's a bloodbath out there.

 

Be vigilant! In April, my symptoms felt dissipated after about a week. I went for a short treadmill run, my health fell off a cliff the next day, and I was as sick as I've ever been in my life for over a month.

 

My mom whose boyfriend was exposed to COVID from his assistant is considering attending a funeral because it'll "already have been 11 days" and because the state guidelines don't say he has to quarantine or get tested.

Explained to her that the state guideline conflicts with public health experts but idk what she's gonna do. Sigh.

Found out today I might get early access to the vaccine because I am volunteer staff at a COVID testing site. That would be cool af.

 

Is there anything that can be currently done to apply for earlier access to the vaccine? Curious how they determine the high risk groups. I have a pretty rare autoimmune disorder that people aren't widely aware of
