Women’s match RULED. Loved the trash can shenanigans!

NA Triple Threat also kinda ruled!

Men’s match was aight, McAfee looked much sloppier here than he did in his other Takeover match.

 

I hope to god Io never goes main roster; she can be the Ciampa/Gargano of the women...her American legacy for craziness, which most would have assumed would be made by jumping off the temple onto Penta, is surely topped by this.

To think she was delayed because she had a heart thing

 

Also, seeing the spot, I'd believe that Ember talked to KO to plan that chair spot. It has a sound that just sounds so damn violent...and KO is so good at those. Whether a fakeout or real, the spot he builds to just has this *crunch*. Also usually the kind of spot Candice takes.

Last post since I’m still awake. Didn’t like how they basically just watched Cole get the fire extinguisher and just let him spray them. Also didn’t like how they stopped brawling and stood there for way to long for McAfee’s dive off the top.

Holy shit to that End of Heartache on Pete Dunne near the end. And that Bitter End to Cole on the chair

 

I actually liked the Men's match more than the Women. The latter did kinda drag at times between big spots and it for sure felt weird with the babyfaces having the +1. I can't remember a single War Games match that worked that way without some gimmick attached to it, but maybe I'm wrong. Also I couldn't stop thinking how much more I would've liked if Toni was off having her own program with Ember and Io was actually defending her title. Not to say the match was bad though because it definitely wasn't. I just didn't pop as hard for a bunch of brutal spots compared to the storytelling in the Mens. At least Candice didn't get the pin because that would've done nothing for her. Maybe someone can help me out because I don't 100% keep up with NxT - did Raquel pin Io to set up a title program, kinda like how Rhea did to Shayna last year? Because if not, then I'm not sure I agree with Io getting pinned clean in the middle of the ring in a 8 woman match after her team dominated the entire time.

For the men, that was one of the best WarGames matches to me from a psychology standpoint, not a bunch of random teams of 4 that we've seen in the past. The Bitter End on the chair was insane. And I couldn't believe McAfee kicked out of the Panama Sunrise at the end there, that legitimately shocked me. I know some people in this thread don't like him, but like Ronda, I have to sit there and watch every one of his matches. They're too entertaining to miss. I still don't think I agree with TUE winning. I think it opens up a lot more interesting doors if they lose, but I liked it more than I thought I would. I'll give them credit that the finish was very clever. KOR deserved it, and it does leave the window cracked for the storyline to continue if they so choose. Also a bonus that they didn't have any dumb turn swerve that would've diluted the story of the match.

I fell asleep during the triple threat match so I’ll need to go back and watch the final 2 matches, but it was a good show up until there

 

They've been slowly building up Raquel as a big threat the last month especially, and they've been doing a small program with Rhea and Raquel. Rhea went over at Halloween Havoc, but I wouldn't be surprised if Raquel getting the pin on Io sets up a potential triple threat for the title with the three of them, or perhaps a shorter one-off program with Raquel and Io before they get to Shotzi, Ember, or Toni challenging for the title. I'm not so sure the title is coming off Io for a while, though, and as of right now, Shotzi feels like it could be the biggest moment/story to be the next champ.

 

For Halloween Havoc, there were supposed to be run in's by Theory and whoever the woman is. They both tested positive or were around people and had to be taken off the show the day of. Rather than change plans, they just put different people in the masks. Now that they are healthy and testing negative, they are doing the normal shit again.

Shoulda taken away his push and given it to Bronson.

 

I’ve been saying Shotzi is kinda dangerous. It’s seemed to be on both of them though. Candice moved the chair onto herself, which I’m sure was the agreed upon spot. But Shotzi landed with the full weight directly on her butt. And Candice kept her arm extended

Surprise rumble entrant?

 

Rollins probably returns then...Id bet Becky doesnt return til crowds do. Maybe the RAW/SD after WM

 

I know you can't hold off on returns forever, but Becky's return feels like the one that they absolutely have to wait until they get back to even a semblance of normal crowds again.

 

I’m sure it will be Charlotte returning at the rumble

 

Its tricky, since "returning" right now is working one night and its probably like a 1-2hr drive to wherever they're running the show...super doable without feeling like you're being pulled away from your kid.

But yeah, that should be the big pop for a crowd if you can hold it off for a June PPV or like, Summerslam
