I think Mark and Tom need to do a blink album similar to the Outkast concept of Speakerboxx and the Love Below. Each having their own "side" but showing their own styles and vision. Won't happen but it'd be fun.

I think I need Tom to sit down and make me a timeline of his art. So I can know what's connected, and what order is what. Because that's always what stops me from caring about his stuff. It's Tom overload and i can't keep up/keep track of it all.

He is a Nascar loving, red**** pandering individual now that he saw Earnhardt Jr. loves him and AvA.

    Things have changed.

I think that's what Neighborhoods unintentionally was.

I'm waiting his documentary right now and it's making me miss riffs. The guitar is probably the least important part of California

I think Neighbourhoods at time sounded like that.

Edit: cricket beat me to it with identical comment

I still don't buy that "The Adventure" video where he supposedly writes the main lead riff. It seems completely staged for the sake of that documentary and making AvA seem more important than it ever really was. He recreated the moment and if you watch the AvA doc, there's too much setup for it to happen so conveniently on camera.

It's also odd how he skipped over the Ilan record. Maybe because he had the least control in the writing of those songs?

Didn't they have a camera rolling pretty much 24/7 though?

Probably. Also wish he talked about I-Empire, DED and his newest EPs.

I also hated when he said he came back to blink from doing Boxcar and it was like he went to college. Just sounds so condescending.

Didn't have internet access for the last 3 days. Did the Tom documentary pop up online anywhere? I am really itching to watch it.

I watched a chunk of the documentary, but Tom DeLonge basically just talking for near an hour and a half, uninterrupted, is tough to take in all at once. Plus most of the blink history I already knew. I did enjoy hearing him talk about the songs themselves. I got to the Stay Together for the Kids part. Might check out the rest later, hope he goes deep on the songwriting on untitled.

I thought it was weird he only talked about the first AVA album then a second of the Love double album, which was pretty bad, then the movie, which is worse, then nothing else. Wonder if the film makers just editted down for time sake especially since Tom thinks the Dream Walker is his best work.

I also didn't like how the untitled album was barely talked about.

The documentary was cringey at times but I actually respect Tom now a little. He's just shit at explaining himself, but so am I.

Anyone have a link to the pursuit of tone documentary? Sorry if this has been asked, I'm just getting back from vacation and would love to wind down to it before work tomorrow.

I liked the documentary. He's clearly passionate about everything he does, and his honesty is refreshing here.

His misstep is the way he left, came, and left again. I'm sure he knows he could have handled that better. Regardless of if you like what he's doing or not, he's having fun and being true to himself.

So about a month ago I found out my 17year old coworker had never heard of blink182. I lent him California even though that's not his music style. He went on vacation shortly after, comes back to work today he loves the album and tells me his favorites, but he also looked up all their old stuff on Spotify and starts talking to me about carousel and feeling this and all their old stuff. I love spreading the infection lol he's now a fan. Says he prefers Matt to tom also lol
