    "I'll chew on a dog!"

Deftones were my most listened band with "Swerve City" being #1 song. Makes sense because I got into them in a BIG way in 2020and Koi was my gateway.

We reach for the longest shadow

I might be in the minority here, but that was just okay. The Idiot Pilot remix will continue to be my go-to remix of this one.

hmm... been a while since I listened to the original version but doesn't really sound much different to me on first listen.

If I could just forget it

I really like the lack of drums and the little touches of piano he added. Creates a whole different atmosphere.

  11. It may be minimalistic but it's gorgeous. The piano is a wonderful addition. Amazing song, both versions

    where'd you snag that?

  16. Discogs! €25 including shipping - was meant to be with Koi no Yokan but maybe they sent it in a separate order.

The new version of Teenager is incredible, just so beautiful. I got goosebumps listening to it.

They liked your review for Ohms obviously.

    Really interested to hear specifics.

  22. I was offered it but didn't have time to review, so I just said 'yeah I'd like to hear this anyway if you could arrange that' and my editor apparently did? I'm three songs in currently. Will post thoughts later but I just saw the Squarepusher remix of Pink Maggit is 10 minutes long so that rules.

  23. Some spoilery thoughts on Black Stallion:

The fakeout at the start of the Clams Casino take on Feiticeira is amazing. The record complements White Pony extremely well, I think. Each chosen remix artist occupies their own space and makes the song their own, some to greater extents than others. Blanck Mass flips Elite so well you'd think it's his own damn song. Robert Smith doesn't do a whole lot with Teenager from an objective standpoint but it works in a stripped-back form and the addition of piano is a great touch - probably the least adventurous rework on the album but offers the record the breathing space that the original did on WP. Salva fucks up Rx Queen and I mean that as a compliment - starts off plenty recognisable but the switch-up around 2:20 in will throw a lot of people for a loop. Korea is gutted and rebuilt as a brooding, heavily atmospheric piece with Chino's vocals largely absent, used as an instrument when they do show up. Squarepusher breaks apart Pink Maggit to the point of near-total disintegration before building it back up to bring the whole experience home. I think people who aren't fans of remix albums will still like this quite a bit. It's clearly a passion project for everyone involved and it shows. (and yes the DJ Shadow remix of Digital Bath is every bit as good as you think it is)
