Being killed in your dreams is definitely the most terrifying concept ever, with being lost in the woods at a close second.

I watched The Mist right when it came out and the choice he makes at the end was so terrifying to me at the time...

Maybe also The Descent when they're climbing through those extremely narrow tunnels haha

I've seen some of Faces of Death/Guinea Pig/accidental snuff and I can't say I really felt "terrified"... I just felt this sick feeling or a dark pit in my throat

    no thanks

i like sheer terror like Texas Chainsaw Massacre made me feel, but this is actually what i long for most in horror, that sickening sort of tension. that said, im not sure Guinea Pig actually would make me feel that, gore overload isn't usually what gets me scared, just kind of dull entertained.

Even though it's not a horror movie, the only movie I rented where I had to turn it off halfway through was John Waters' Pink Flamingos. I understand the shock value he was aiming for and I appreciate his later work but that movie did its job in making me feel uncomfortable.

Is the Faces of Death worth watching? I've heard it's mostly fake.

It's a solid cheesy genre pic, if you're interested in that. Nothing of value asides the cultural currency of having seen it

Even if it's fake, the monkey scene is still disturbing.

There's far, far worse stuff out there than anything released on video. If you wanna go down that path, go big.

Speaking of, I watched some of the Bjork stalker video last week. That was messed up

The OG Amityville Horror and The Exorcist are cliche but still terrify me.

True, Lake Mungo had a super terrifying concept that kept my imagination going for a long time after. I didn't find the whole "slow zoom on a possible ghostly figure" thing particularly creepy but then it lays the smackdown and oh boy

It always scared me the most cause like theoretically you can run away from a killer but at some point you have to sleep. You can't run away or avoid it forever and I hate things I can't control so the concept is just terrifying. So now I have this weird respect for Freddy for being able to scare me so effectively lol. Plus the effects were so good. The documentary on it was great

Also omg y'all Stir of Echos 2 got real. It's like about racism and our view of terrorists and hate crimes and icky racist teenagers and like I did not expect that at all.

The Exorcist for me as well. The reverse crab walk scene freaked me out worse than any other scene I can think of.

When I was a kid every horror movie terrified me but the exorcist never really did. I love it and appreciate it but that crab walk thing always cracked me up.

There's a lot of scenes in Twin Peaks that get my blood curdling. First time Laura's mom has that vision of
Bob in Laura's room scared the hell out of me.

I remember a lot of the Are You Afraid of the Dark? Eps being really creepy, but I'm sure if I saw them today I wouldn't feel the same way. The one with the dude from comic books turning people's mouths blue, any of the ghost ones, and the sandman one esp.
