I doubt the court would allow businesses to make people show proof that they are vaccinated to go there (and frankly I doubt many businesses would want to have to check every person coming in, that would get pretty ridiculous).

In terms of schools I could see it being mandated at least in some states. And I know there is a business in DC I think or something that said they would require their employees to be vaccinated when it’s available.

Feels like it’s going to be tough to make the case to people though who just view it as, “you got vaccinated and are protected so why does it matter if I get it or not?”

 

Yeah that's kind of another issue we're already seeing now with masks, you're putting the burden on these minimum wage employees that you probably treat like dirt to do the enforcement. Everything's a mess.

 

There's enough brainwashed people who will think the vaccination is the mark of the beast without making people walk around with a lanyard.

 

It's not a HIPAA violation for a business or private entity to require proof of vaccine to be able to enter their premises.

It is why you already seeing Ticketmaster plan on instituting that policy into the venues they own or operate with going forward.

 

I want to be clear that I'm not trying to argue that "well things aren't ever going to get any better so we shouldn't even try" lol just thinking out loud, we really need to be devising all-hands-on-deck approaches, I hope the Biden admin is.

Shunning people who refuse to take the vaccines for political or conspiracy reasons is the best course of action, make them feel shame.

 

Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I have a feeling that once the anti-vaccine people see the (hopefully positive) effects of the COVID vaccines, it won't be as polarizing as it is now. It's easy for people to say now that they won't get it, but once it's available and there's a light at the end of the tunnel for these restrictions, I bet a lot of them change their mind

They aren't based in reality, reality can't change their view. They also don't believe the virus is real or believe it is being caused by 5G towers. I don't think the level of mistrust and misinformation that these believe have cultivated for years can be alleviated by something so simple.

Yes but there's a difference between being an anti-vaxxer and being one of the people who said they weren't sure if they would take a COVID vaccine four months ago. Obviously the hardcore anti-vaxxers are a problem, but those people on their own may not be enough to prevent herd immunity

 

Terrified. My brother just went on this whole rampage about "how are you allowed to force me to inject something into my body!?" Then he started spouting off about why does he have to get it as long as 70% of people do it's fine. Like, what a selfish asshole you are.
