  1. Fully back on my JoFo bullshit in light of hearing that new Yr Poetry EP. Johnny Foreigner vs Everything is an album that EVERYONE in this thread needs to hear.

my all time fav album. Doesn’t have their biggest anthems but shows the diversity in sound they are able to achieve. You get a little of everything from it.

In retrospect the only thing I wish was different was that the skramz version of Johnny Foreigner vs you was the one on the Album as it’s the one I listen to the most. Iconic rework

  4. Holy shit I forgot this even EXISTED until now. My favourite version is probably the Cursed Version from the pre-JFVE EP because I have vivid memories of going to see them in Birmingham months before the album came out and they let the crowd sing this song as their opener and it was the BEST fucking thing.

  5. Khaki Cuffs is defunct effective immediately after troubling information has come to light regarding Sam Greaves. TWs for emotional abuse and physical assault

Got recommended one of their albums a while back and really enjoyed it. Surprised I never heard of them as they are from very near me. Maybe a little before my time sadly.

I kind of dip in and out of this thread, but what are the essential emo records of this year?

more post-hardcore but Miss New Buddha (Brian of Westherbox’s new band) put out a fucking stellar record that went p under appreciated on this site and I wanted to shout that out while this convo is going on

  13. New EP from London/Brighton-based ME REX out today, probably emo-adjacent so posting it here. Including the one they released in August because track 3 on there, Tannika Pacts, is #2 on my songs of the year list. FFO Frightened Rabbit, Los Campesinos!, songs with way too many words in them.

Also this is more indie but since there’s enough crossover here I highly recommend listening to The Baby by Samia. A great debut that came out this year.

I feel like this year has been unbelievably stacked in terms of good releases. Excited to make my AOTY list soon.

Also everyone should check out the Anjimile, Bartees Strange, and DEHD records too.
