Celebrities are people so of course they have opinions on things, to be honest I don’t really care when they do (especially when they’re supporting causes that matter, ie Kaepernick). I think we’ll always have celebrities, as annoying as it is (and I’m as guilty as anyone of loving someone’s work and persona and translating that to something like “I love George Clooney” or whatever, though I understand that doesn’t truly mean I know anything about them). But as long as we have public figures making art that people identify with, we’ll have people identifying with the artist on a level that is probably not appropriate. I think continued discourse about how celebrities are not their art, or that loving an album/movie/show/sports team doesn’t mean we know the person involved with it, is really all we can do. As long as they’re getting taxed appropriately and not running for office. I dunno.

 

We ... should talk about how long we are gonna humor the two old grandpas that can’t fathom being monumental losers and what they’re doing.
