I guess my issue with that argument is that it could very easily be flipped on it's head and be used to show that Trump's support was also historic: 66% x 47.7% = 31.5% which is still higher than 1984 Reagan. Now, his vote share might drop, but even if it drops to 47.2% or so, he's still pretty much right in line with 1984 Reagan. Ultimately, this was a terrifyingly close race considering the voter turnout (which has always been interpreted to lean Democrat) and considering how awful Trump is. By percentage difference in the popular vote, it's the 15th closest out of 59 elections. I don't say this to be negative, but rather because I think it's dangerous to pretend that a massive chunk of this country does not still view Trump as some god coming to earth to save America. Fascism is still very much alive and well in this country and it's problematic to view this election as a huge repudiation of it, in my honest opinion

Edit: After reading the full thread, I do recognize that it was also trying to make this point to a certain extent

I don't think even as president he has the authority to mandate it nationwide. I think it falls under the governors authority.

he was Biden’s Chief of Staff when he was VP and left Biden’s team before Biden decided not to run to work for HRC’s campaign and has basically been groveling to get back into Biden’s 2020 team ever since.

Why is it even a republican talking point that the 'media' called the election and if we let the media do it, they'd never be another republican president? This is how it's been done every single election! The votes get counted, and the media announces the result. How do they think people found out Trump was president in 2016? I'm pretty sure we all saw it on the news... Do they not know how stupid it makes them sound?

He speaks real well and is a very thoughtful person who focuses on the working class POV. That said, longer, inspiring speeches haven't been his thing in the past. Probably the #1 thing for him to work on in the leadup to 2022.

The content from this presentation is great but the delivery can feel a bit amateurish at times. (Stupid that we have to critique things that way, but it's a real thing.)
