Too spooky for me

 

I played RE4 as a teenager but I wouldn’t even want to do that now

 

I am unbelievably hyped for RE8. it looks like it has RE4 vibes.

 

Without PT, Resident Evil probably continues to suck after 6. PT helped a huge revitalization of the horror game genre, and I’m still sad that it never got to be made as a full fledged title.

 

Ignore me if I’m wrong, but didn’t indie horror games already pave the way for that, just more under the radar than PT

 

Ofc Amnesia and the likes were the precursor.

kojima is famously a huge PC gaming enthusiast so I’m sure he got inspired by those things.

You horror people should really play Yume Nikki (the original, not the weird 3D version). It’s on Steam.

 

Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games ever made though. I beat it on Wii a few times.

 

yes, but it’s highly unlikely that big name studios/developers latch onto that style in the way they did after PT.

RE4 is great. 5/6 were not.

 

I will defend re5 with my life. Fantastic coop experience.

5 was pretty good for what it was yeah

 

I enjoyed the Leon/Olivia campaign in RE6 but not much else. RE7 was also good up until the boat stuff.

 

All of 7 was great imo

I'm playing 4 for the first time right now. It's got some really great parts and overall I'm enjoying it, but it's much much less scary than I expected it to be.

 

The only part I found scary about 4 is the village at the beginning. Once you get to the castle it’s less scary but still just as fun.

 

4 felt more isolating than any of the ones I played before it because of the setting and remains one of my favorites. Villagers were definitely the creepiest/scariest part, but the second half of the game is where RE really started trying to go sci-fi heavy undead creature mode and took the series in a “bigger” direction. They dropped the ball later with it, but was still a unique and fun experience when it first came out.

 

4 was my favorite game for many years. The opening village is very overwhelming and the controls didn’t translate well for modern times. I’m excited for a potential remake.

I found some old tip money and I might buy a Series X to play Apex after all this year

 

Played Ratchet and Clank yesterday and almost finished it! The game is super fun but whoever designed those ship controls fucking sucks. I then got on the apex hype and downloaded it yesterday, managed to get two wins!

 

R&C 2016 is so underrated

 

It’s really great, I think I only have two missions to go, going by the trophies haha. Still though, those ship sections are the worst and I’m glad they only had two times when you did it.
