As I've said a few times in this thread, their first four albums are great to me. Peaking at Alaska. The Great Misdirect on had diminishing returns for me because my interest in metal started to shift away from prog to the point where I have listened to their last few releases a couple times each, but those first four albums are foundational albums for my interest in metal and hardcore.

I'm not a negative nancy all the time now.

You've definitely softened over the years, and you weren't even that bad to begin with. Maybe becoming a dad had something to do with it! haha

 

Depends on your definition of softening. Liam responded well to Motorhead and PUP so he's well on his way down the left hand path.

 

I admit it's a silly nitpick but it always irked me that even though they've been playing in half step down tuning for decades, they recorded Death Magnetic and its follow up in standard.

Any good extreme metal covers of Limp Bizkit songs out there? I'm feeling a certain vibe right now.

Suicide Silence's cover of Engine No. 9 will suffice for now, but I'm looking for something that can scratch the LB niche.

Edit: Also take Sunami for inspiration for the ignance, but I want something with pig squeals.

 

Sky Eats Airplane’s Nookie cover immediately comes to mind but only because it was popular in that scene when I was in high school. I wouldn’t normally recommend it.
