Living in this weird purgatory between not doomscrolling all day and not getting any of my actual work done anyway. Turns out it involves a lot of stress cleaning. At least if democracy collapses my house will be fuckin spotless

Also funny (kind of) side note. During our pre-flight today my student from South Africa asked why I was working today, and I just said because it is one of my work days. He then says “Oh is Election Day not a holiday here?” I say no, he looks a little confused and says “that is absolutely ludicrous”.

Then we spent the whole flight shitting on the electoral process here, and he told me about South African politics, it was a good and informative start to a potentially not awesome day/night

 

Gonna be watching CNN probably with twitter refreshing constantly and in this thread with my people as we all go insane

At this point, is it safe to say that win or lose Biden will get more votes for president than anyone in history? Obama got 70m in 2008. Biden seems on track to get 75m easy (50% on 150m turnout), 80m very likely (51.5% on 155m turnout) and 85m is well within reach (53% on 160m turnout)

Just got back from voting, no wait in line for me. Wasn’t originally planning it but I voted for Biden. It felt weird but in a good way, like going to the gym drunk.
