Awesome news. I don't hate Tidal Wave but def didn't want the album to be in that vein.

 

Gotcha well we will see.. I'm going to listen to the whole thing regardless of how I feel about the singles

 

What's your general sentiment of their past albums?

 

TAYF - classic
WYWTB - my favorite TBS album
Louder Now - good major label debut
New Again - very bad
Self-Titled - nice return to form
Happiness Is - enjoy it a lot - band very close to releasing the album they always wanted to release
Tidal Wave - probably the album the band has always wanted to write and is incredibly dope

 

Don't quite understand the hate for New Again. If it was never a TBS album and a different band all together people would have enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun with it when it came out.

New Again... fuck, was that the biggest headache for a review I ever wrote. Jesus. I try to forget that album exists lol

Even though the new tune is eh, I'm still really anxious to hear this record. Guess I still have a soft spot for TBS. They're consistent enough for me.

 

I'll pry for one detail--do we get more John vocals on this that aren't just him harmonizing?

I wish Straylight Run co-existed with this incarnation of TBS

 

The hate for New Again has never made sense to me. I think the way most people feel about that album is how I feel about the self-titled.

 

I have pretty much the same outlook on it as you do. Maybe one or two songs I think I remember enjoying.

 

I like Carpathia and Sink Into Me a fair amount, maybe Everything Must Go but I don't remember. The rest I can't even recall what they sound like, and I've listened to that album many, many times

 

I love NA. It's darker and more aggressive than the other TBS albums. Summer, Man and Catholic Knees and EMG are top tier TBS tracks

 

Summer man is excellent. Carpathia is prob my fav on there. Never rly got the emg love that much tho tbh

 

When will we hear the next single?

 

Good going Drew, you made me go from interested to hear it to full blown excitement. Anxious to hear this.

 

I'm the exact same way. Swing to me is best track on album. EMG is maybe most overrated TBS song ever.
