An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I absolutely love "Hallelujah Money" though so I have no grounds to judge anybody lmao

I have a 16-track playlist of the Humanz era which might honestly be up there with my favourite Gorillaz work

that's not to say standard Humanz was bad, I've never understood the vitriol people have for it. but there were definitely a few questionable inclusions/exclusions

I'd also include Sleeping Powder and Garage Palace in my Humanz playlist. Damn, that era had some great b-sides.

It's insane that the Super Deluxe version of the album is 40 tracks long, and that doesn't even include Sleeping Powder haha

    so much for them! Prestigious

yeah they milked the hell out of sex murder party when i saw them. it was also really bizarre that they didnt do submission given i saw them at a festival and danny brown was there. or shes my collar when kali uchis was also there

also if i was cutting down humanz i would not get rid of hallelujah money.

Out of respect for your disbelief, I'm going to give humanz another spin to see if anything clicks.

In the past, I've just come away from it feel like I didn't even listen to a Gorillaz album.

If it helps, you can skip the Interludes and delete Sex Murder Party hahha.

To echo this, I love both of those tracks. Sleeping Powder is absolutely top-tier in the gorillaz disco

Also, try to step away from it "sounding like a Gorillaz album" and just listen to the songs as.... songs. Despite not fitting into a mold, the songs themselves are solid once you stop trying to mentally force it into a preconceived sound.

Humanz is awesome. Sounds like a party at the end of the world.

I also tend to only really love a Gorillaz album when there’s a 5-6 year gap between them to get my hyped lol. So what do I know.

Do Ya Thing probably top 3 for me. Such a damn shame that *people have to go to creative extremes* to get the song on streaming.

    **correction

Damn. Just kind of browsing their discography. A top 10 song list would be hard..

I've done a few listens over the past couple days. I still feel pretty much the same about the record. I guess the overall vibe of the record is consistent and well executed, but ultimately makes me feel kind of depressed?? (Not sure if that is supposed to be the correct reaction)

I can say that I have new favorable views of Charger, Busted and Blue, and Andromeda, with Charger specifically being a stand out for me.

Damon said it's supposed to be a wild party at the end of the world so that may have been exactly what he was going for lol

    Die rad.

100% self titled. How Plastic Beach has way more votes than their first album is beyond me. Plastic Beach was the sign of the band going wayyyy downhill. Demon Days is also fantastic, but nostalgic for self titled 20 years later.

Surprised by this! I think Plastic Beach was their best and most cohesive work - and saw it getting a lot of love for the "10 year anniversary" pieces this year as well.

I've only made it through the new record once, but really enjoyed it. Gotta return to it soon.
