ironically I connect to the lyrics I just don't like it musically.

 

I think I was a little in denial about this record when it first came out, I probably talked about it being as good if not better than Keep You, but it's unfortunately not close for me. Back half does not hold up to the front half.

Same here! I put it on on Saturday morning and have listened to it a few more times since. It's one of those albums that once I listen to it I don't want to stop for at least several days.

 

Charisma is still such a banger

 

I'm glad some of you really like this. For me it's always been "good" but nowhere even remotely close to Keep You

 

I think they're about equally good, though they do very different things. For me it's like The Hotelier with Home and Goodness, and perhaps (with more time) Touche Amore with Stage Four and Lament.

 

Could really use some new music from these guys.

Wait for Love is probably my favorite album of the last 3-4 years.

 

I really do enjoy Wait for Love but Keep You just hits that sweet spot.

 

I do wonder sometimes if wait for love came first if the reactions would be swapped. I think part of the initial appeal/connection of keep you was how mesmerizingly well they nailed a new sound. That said, I do think keep you is just flat out better.

 

I was under the impression more people liked Wait for Love at this stage and I was an outlier

 

Keep You over this any day of the week. WFL is good, it's just not their best.

 

I love both albums, but prefer Keep You by far.

 

Wait for Love felt like more of the same, which wasn't a bad thing. Keep You has that emotion that you can just feel all the way through. I always listen to it when I'm feeling down to realize how much worse things could be.

Listened to this this morning since the thread bumped and it holds up. "Blue" is killing me and is the best song here

 

If it was, I'd probably like it more
