Even if the democrats expand the court they'll do some half measure of only adding two seats out of "fairness" and we'll still be stuck with a 6-5 majority.

I’m on a little vacation in NC right now and it’s pretty 50/50 where I’m at with Biden and Trump signs. A lot of Trump signs have the T marked out so they say RUMP. I enjoy it. We’re staying on Beech Mountain and there’s a mask mandate here which was a relief for us.

The 538 puts a lot of pressure on tying outcomes together, but if Biden loses Wisconsin/Pennsylvania because they stop counting votes and ratfuck the process, that doesn't really correlate to his performance elsewhere because he technically should be winning those states, he just got cheated.

So he could win Florida and then lose Pennsylvania in a very weird year. I don't trust anything tho.

I took a vacation for election week out of sheer "not wanting to be near anyone while it's happening".

Voting Tuesday morning, then I'm off to a cabin in upstate NY.

Depends if you trust their model or not. Florida wisconsin michigan pennsylvania are all important tipping point states, it's just that PA has the most impact overall.

I can almost guarantee the Dems will add at most 2 seats to make up for the 2 the GOP stole and that's it

I, for one, love that this election is gonna come down to whether or not enough suburban white women in my state (in a year of pandemic & conspiracy theories & mostly misplaced anger at our governor) decide to vote Biden...

that it outweighs the anti-democratic manipulation of a party that now has sturdy control of the Supreme Court, because one person wasn’t ready to retire at the right time & died at the wrong time.

We’re so good at this freedom thing we like trying to share with other countries, aren’t we?

There were 9 for the 9 circuits.

There should be 13 for the 13 circuits.

    Add four seats.

I want the court to expand, but I also want them to change the rules around judicial terms. No lifetime positions. Something like an 8 or 10-year term max is fine.

the thing that worries me is that Repubs and the media will latch onto the idea of “well if you’re trying to just fix the idea that seats were stolen, then only two seats were stolen and you should only add two seats” and then the media will hammer on that and it’ll become the conventional wisdom and adding 2 seats will end up being more popular and etc.

    Fuck it’s already annoying me.

Nothing Republicans use to justify their shit will be in good faith, Democrats need to power through and do the right thing in complete disregard of how they think it looks.

Which might be why we're fucked

Watauga County (where Beech Mountain is) is a blue county in a sea of red due to Appalachian State being there in Boone. Enjoy your vacation! I love that area, especially this time of year. Check out Appalachian Mountain Brewery if you're into beer.
