Leftists seem to really love putting the cart before the horse when it comes to electoral politics. Even if AOC somehow miraculously became President, in many ways it would simply mean jack sick as the Dems are in no way a party of AOCs. They are far too welcoming to people who view AOC as a primary enemy. It would probably end up like Corbyn where half the party actively tries to undermine her.

We literally just saw over the past 5 years with Bernie! What makes people think it would be different with AOC? Do you think the centrists *wouldn’t* try the same shitty smear tactics again a young WOC? Of course they would.

AOC is popular with pretty much everyone. Anecdotally, the centrists and Democrat boomers i know like her. I guess that’s the argument you can make for her being a more viable candidate than Bernie.

I think she’ll probably run at some point in her life. Probably won’t win.

Yes maybe he wouldn’t raise the tax rate back to 70% but that’s a trade off I’m willing to make for the First Emo President

My relative from Scranton shared this. Maybe we're taking the Northeast PA margin down, maybe Don Joint(?) is just a crazy guy.

She may be popular even among those groups, but I still imagine there will be other candidates those groups would prefer over her if she were to run for President within the next few elections. They may like her, but don’t you think they in general would ultimately vote in the primary for someone like Cuomo instead of her?

edit: I guess you probably agree with me since you said you don’t think she would win lol

There was a parade next to Trump's golf course in Bedminster yesterday. People really like giant flags.

For many SC justices these days, much if not most of their experience is being an appellate judge, so basically the same position they are in at the SCOTUS, just lower down. Sotomayor is the only current one to be an actual district court judge who resides over trials, and I think the only one to ever be a criminal lawyer

The typical track after graduation is something like: clerk for a federal judge, clerk for a SCOTUS judge, get either a Big Law job or go down some political route or both, then after awhile be politically connected enough to land a federal appellate judge.

All of them are extremely disconnected from the everyday work of the average attorney. The closest most of them get is being an appellate attorney like RBG or Roberts, and that is still pretty far removed from the work of actually handling a case+trial
