The bigger news, at least to me, is that these 13 prisons were specifically reported on by The Nation in an investigative story several months ago.

It's fairly rare that hard, investigative journalism gets a big win like that. Also, The Nation just happens to be my favorite publication and the only one I'm subscribed to in print =)

Well, for one, despite all the poking fun, the "what do you have to lose" is by far the most cogent and philosophically persuasive appeal he has made to colored people all cycle. I am 99% sure he wasn't trying to reference Marx or Shakur (in that the "nothing to lose but our chains" slogan has been popular in the BLM movement), but if it was intentional, maybe his new team is actually semi-competent and you could color me impressed.

 

People have speculated on Hillary Clinton's hawkishness being a mechanism of response to sexist undermining of her boldness and strength by political opponents, i.e. she has to be twice the war criminal a man would otherwise be. If that phenomenon does exist, it can certainly be found in prosecutors and judges in my opinion. See: Lynne Abraham.



Also, on that topic, please, everyone, read up on this report from earlier this year. Two of these scumbags were St. Louis prosecutors and my colleagues who interacted with them testified to just how corrupt, dishonest, and evil they were. Ps - fuck all prosecutors to hell.

1.) He hasn't said anything outrageously dumb (that I'm aware of) in the past week.
2.) Clinton's convention bounce is in the rearview mirror and there was going to be a come down for sure.
3.) She's a very weak candidate, who will struggle to get over 50% of the vote, and it's hard to win by 8-12% or whatever when you're not passing that mark.
