Right? Though I 100% know they’ve gone above and beyond, and this isn’t some run of the mill pedal. Not that anything they do is all that standard. It’s evidently an interesting piece of studio equipment they’ve put a ton of time into. Just...that’s a mental steep price point. Guess they’re really trying to expand into that market now too. Got their fingers in every pie it seems. Collabs, analog, digital, the weird Ayahuasca side project branch, studio gear.

It was pretty interesting seeing that and then JHS budget-line right after. It's crazy to me that Chase Bliss is releasing pedals at a HIGHER price tag than their usual. Would have hoped they'd dial back and create something closer to 150-200...

Though my week with MOOD has convinced me they are geniuses so...

a lot of this doesn’t even sound that good. if I absolutely had to have a lexicon I’d get a VST which will sound better than this. wild.

I’m looking for some recommendations on guitar amps.

Target budget: I really don’t want to spend more than $400.

Use: Bedroom, Recording, and potentially small gig/jam worthy (If that’s ever a thing again). Ideally something universal as far as use goes.

Style of Play: Something that’s plug and play with an awesome crunch/gain setting and that will take pedals without sounding boxy. A reverb option would be great too. I’m an aggressive player that loves fat and clear tones.

I’m not an amp modeling person. Boss Katana’s are tempting, but I definitely won’t use it to its fullest extent. I’d still end up using plexi, boost, and fuzz pedals haha. Plus, I want something I can always count on and not have to worry about updating.

So far I checked out the Orange Crush Series and the Peavey Bandit. Any other recommendations would be great.

My first amp ever was a small Marshall combo and man it's still a great amp. I don't think I'll ever get rid of it.

I really love my Katana, but think I'll end up buying something a little nicer probably in 4-5 years. Dialing in the Katana was/is work haha.

That's all I really hear about the Katana haha. There's a sweet sounding Soldano and Marshall tone pack out there for it too. If I had a Katana I'd be getting those packs haha.

My friend has a Fender Champion and runs a $40 Tone City Gold Plexi pedal through it and my goodness, its sounds pretty rad haha. Fender makes some cool budget amps. I kinda want one just to have one. I do like blues tones. I'm just not an accomplished blues player haha.

I installed the Sneaky Amps thing and have a Twin Reverb, VOX, Marshall, and Matchless amps attached to the different channels. They sound very good, but still had dial in the preamp volume vs. Main volume. I basically run the amp clean w/ pedal for dirt and it works very well.

There is nothing quite like a small Marshall cranked though haha, love playing with that amp.

I still think about getting rid of my amp and just doing the preamp and direct in thing. I have a new interface coming in this week.

when you read into and semi understand what this thing is actually doing it’s no contest. also since it’s digital it’s crazy quiet.

I have both it and an old Dynacomp (for character if I want that sound) - stompobox analog compressors are crazy noisy.

I've decided on an amp! Got a Fender Super Champ X2 FSR combo. It was priced $100 more than I wanted to spend, but it does everything I'm looking for right now and gives the best of both worlds when it comes to tube amps/modern amp modeling. I was a bit skeptical before trying it out because I wasn't sure I'd come close to the tone I want, but it proved me wrong after using it and throwing a couple pedals through it.

    Pros:
    -15 Watt Tube amp
    -Amp modeling capabilities
-Amazing clean sound for getting the best use of pedals.
-USB and Line Out option to go straight into interface/computer.
    -Footswitch option
-A Celestion G10 Greenback 30W speaker! Worth the upgrade with the FSR.
-An excellent and affordable tube amp for recording!
-It has a JCM800 modeling option and it actually sounds good to my ears coming from a fender. I'll probably use that voice, the 65 Deluxe, and the straight clean most of the time.
-Light weight and doesn't take up tons of room!
    -Slick looking amp.

    Cons:
-10" speaker and wish it was at least a 1x12", but I see people hooking these combo's up to cabinets so I may try it at some point.
-No mids knob. You can still dial in some mids using the treble and bass knob, but I just love me a mid knob.
-Most overdrive voices are kinda lame, but the amp has a few great plug and play options.
-Does not come with a footswitch.
-Not sure you can gig/jam with a band without a mic in front of it.

I'm kind of surprised by how long these amps have been around and that Fender hasn't made a 30W/40W 1x12 or 2x12 option. They do have a Super Champ head/1x12 cab set option. Tons of people have those and they seem pretty cool.

The amp also made me realize I should just bite the bullet and actually take some lessons at some point. After being self-taught and playing for almost 20 years, it's funny how an amp can make you realize just how much more you can learn on guitar haha.

Nice! I really think I need a tube amp, because I've only ever played on SS at this point. Such a believer in paying a little more for what you want. Enjoy!!

I also agree with the bolded part haha. I took lessons 15 years ago at this point and feel like I need to revisit and strengthen up. Have started doing pretty religious daily scale practices and got Rocksmith to widen my song library. We'll see what happens haha.

bought this off of Scott Evans from Kowloon Walled City. he said the tone of his guitar sound is primarily from a broken MXR D+, that allowed for way more asymmetrical clipping and volume than usual. So he recreated the pedal, minus the broken parts, but with the additional volume and clipping. excited to dig in with it.
