Record Store is gut-wrenching in the best way

 

Less a specific album and more a vibe. The guitar sound, the vocal inflection, etc. It made me think of Costello immediately the first time I heard it.

Decade-plus long lurker from AP.net and then here who has never jumped in to any discussion before now.... I had to sign up just to say how good this album is. It is damn good.

 

I assumed he did it because he wanted to play those songs live. But then he premiered the album the day after he started the tour. Very odd indeed.

 

Saw Butch in Athens last night, second night of the tour. Holy. Shit. So damn good. If you guys are seeing this tour you are in for a treat, and if you aren't seeing it you might want to reconsider your life. He played all the songs released off Stay Gold so far plus Record Store. As well as a collection of songs from the rest of his career. I'd never seen him live before, and it was truly an experience. He is such a true rock n' roll dude, through and through.

 

It is definitely odd, but I think it shows confidence in the back half of the album being just as good, if not better, than the front half.

 

Does Pandora stream mean it's gonna all be shuffled or nah?

God damnit, the suspense is killing me. WHY DO WE HAVE A 3 HOUR MEETING ON A FRIDAY MORNING!?

 

Yesterday woke up thinking the release was today. Then was disappointed to realize that my mind was not matching up with the calendar. Then this shows up. One listen in and it sounds pretty great to my ears

 

Those last three songs are just ridiculous. He has to know those are some of his best songs ever.
