    It's all hell.

I admittedly found MLS really frustrating to play because of all the different registration rules which I've never really understood. PL can be fun though if you're not facing United or Liverpool.

Non-League to Legend-esque saves are definitely my favourite saves!

The best FM save I ever did was with either Ajax where I won the CL in my second season, or Red Star Belgrade where I went unbeaten for almost two whole seasons (lost literally the last game of the 2nd season lmao) and turned them into CL contenders - clubs who you can win leagues with but still have challengers (e.g. PSV, Partizan) are the best to me as turning a bad team into a good one can take too long imo

I get attached to players I like on United and end up hating them in real life because they're shit (*cough* Lingard)

Edit: jesus christ i butchered this post.

My current FM save might be the one I've enjoyed the most for a while.
    1st season: Newcastle (11th)
2nd season: Newcastle (fired early season) - Crystal Palace (avoided relegation, Newcastle got relegated)
    3rd season: Crystal Palace (4th!)
4th season: Crystal Palace (mid-table, new board took over led by Zoran Tosic(?) and threatened to replace me so I left at the end of the season)
5th season: Roma (2nd, but won the Europa League) (Palace ended up finishing bottom, no hard feelings)
6th season: Man City (4th, won the FA Cup)

Currently in the 7th season and top of the league but only played 5 games. Felt good to work my way up rather than start at a big team.

I normally start a game as Ipswich but I've done that a couple of times so tried something different.

Yeah I have had some great games. FM 06 was a good one, I chose Atletico who were a mid table side at the time and made them CL winners in four seasons. FM 16 I took Hertha to CL winners in five seasons.

Currently I have an Arsenal game going where I am about to win the PL in season 2, and an MLS game where I am Philadelphia Union and I’m second in the East behind Atlanta.

MLS is so confusing. Salary caps, designated players, etc. Kind of enjoying it but not sure I’ll do it again.

Decided to try Ligue 1 in the new game. Wasn’t sure who to choose but have settled on Nantes. Going to be almost impossible to win the league for a few years but hoping I can get into Europa and go from there.

I usually choose Rennes in Ligue 1. Always decent. Midtable or higher in recent times with a great youth set up and usually start with one wonderkid.

They were one of my final options but they start with Camavinga and CL football. I think it would be a little easy this year!

Do any of you ever try to handicap yourself on FM? For example, I tried doing a "Bilbao" (only using players born in France) with Marseille once. Obviously, this included selling anyone who wasn't born in France at the start. I finished 8th in my first season and surprisingly didn't get sacked. I did get knocked out of Europe early, though. In my second season, I must admit I got tired of the handicap and just abandoned the save. Maybe someone with more patience than me could find some fun in it, though.

yeah this year probably isn't the best haha. My last game with the was when they had Ismaila Sarr breaking through and big Yoann Gourcuff in the team.

If you're looking for a left back try Faitout Maouassa from Rennes, he's always been class when I've bought him.

I generally try and lean on "local" players, so British and Irish when playing in the Premier League, French and French colonies in France etc. but never to that extent. I've played as Bilbao a few times and fuck me that is hard.

Yeah, I've tried being Bilbao before too and that's what inspired me to do it in France where there's a lot of homegrown talent. I have a soft spot for Marseille, you see, as they are somewhat a sleeping giant in European football.

Did not know that fact about Bilbao. Very interesting.

Playing a double game with Almeria who I got promoted to La Liga in my first season and then with Al-Shabab in the Saudi Pro League. Wanted to do something a little different then my previous games.

Surprisingly the Saudi League is easier than I expected as I won it in my first season but I think that might be do to the limit on foreign players so its really key to build depth with local Saudi players. For some reason I did not make it to the AFC Champions League even though I won the league.

I was probably gonna take the same approach to it that I do for Fifa and start with a lower division team, my go to is usually Carlisle United for that sort of thing.

English lower leagues are very fun. I tried to make Forrest Green Rovers the world’s best team. I did not manage it lol.

I just wanted to imagine the anger the gammon would feel when West Ham got beat 4-0 by a bunch of vegan eco-warriors in a wooden stadium lol.

Wonder if playing as Palermo would be a good one to try now that they are all the way down in Serie D on FM20? Get them back up to Serie A and try to pick up some South American wonderkids like they did with Cavani/Dybala etc!

Edit: game doesn't even have Serie D :verysad:

FM21 is out next month it seems, might as well wait for it to come out instead of paying 50 bucks on steam for FM20

    It's all hell.

Talking about FM, the best new feature for next year has just been released:

Newgens no longer entirely look like they're from another planet, which means you may no longer have your 15 year old wonderkids running around with receding hairlines and full beards:

    Anyone watching this game?

Halftime and Shaktar are 3-0 up away at Real Madrid.
