yeah. basically anything that sounds like it could reasonably soundtrack a party of college aged drunk people is probably edm. skrillex, diplo, the list goes on and on. it's not all bad! but a lot of it is.

Comparing Cardinal to older material, I'm convinced Evan's still getting better and better. Perhaps at some point, what you're looking for and what's he making will converge. And if not, no bother!

By the way, I loved the opening paragraph of your Stay Gold review, but haven't read any more yet. I'm trying to stay pretty blank-slate on this one; I have still yet to hear a single song from the record. I'm excited to get the whole thing in my hands.

I think Light Grenades is a pretty decent Incubus record, especially the 2nd half of the record.

I mean, it was still their weakest release up to that point, but it wasn't as awful as it tends to be made out to be.

 

I can't do incubus, oasis, third eye blind, or most red hot chili peppers

 

I can't do RHCP either, but Flea is an amazing bassist and I'm all about the groove.

 

I just thought of another one, and I should probably delete my account after I say it, but, I don't like Bon Iver. Well, I dig the music and lyrics, then Justin's voice just kills it for me.

I love the shit out of Metallica. I got into them really young, then sort of forgot about them, then had such a blast with their concert film Through the Never that I'm all in on them again.
