Agreed! I can't necessarily put my finger on why We're All Gonna Die is my favorite but it's definitely the one I find myself sitting down with from front to back most often.

Oh wow. I definitely understand the love. I really liked "Live In Stereo" and "Million Pieces." Lots of catchy stuff!

Another one from @jorbjorb 's list (I think...), I checked out Rocks the House , which is a live record by Etta James. I'm a big fan of Etta James and At Last made my top 50 list, and I really enjoy her other studio records as well a lot, but had never listened to any live recordings, and I fully expected to enjoy it.

This was basically what I was hoping for, raucous and energetic, with the crowd loud and centre in the mix, you can hear them clapping and singing along, which I think is really important for live records to make it sound like you're there with them, with Etta leading them into some call and response bits, which are great.

Etta sounds fantastic, and the band behind her is really tight as they blast through some blues / soul songs at maximum volume. There's no big orchestra and string section with her like she had on some of her studio stuff, so it's got a really raw and gritty sound to it, a bit like Sam Cooke's Live at Harlem record. She sounds like she's having a great time, and belts her way through some classic songs, sounding extremely confident and relaxed while still absolutely rocking it.

Really aptly titled album, sounds like it would have been an absolute blast to have been there at the time.

Obviously some massive holes in my music history. I've been trying the last couple years to really dig into older stuff I never listened to when I was younger, definitely liked a lot of it, but none of it has clicked in a way to make this list. Definitely built this on nostalgia and tried to give some extra weight to things that formed my music taste at some point (like I don't listen to ADTR anymore but they basically defined my music taste in high school). Bias sorter kinda surprised me with how low/high some things ended up (there was a point I would've called The Greatest Generation a top 5 album for me) but overall I'm pretty happy with this. Also had to kick out a couple double artists (The National, Manchester Orchestra, Julien Baker, My Chemical Romance, Mayday Parade, FOB, TWY) to make room for some stuff I thought absolutely needed to be on here. Super excited to really dig into everyone else's, I've got some learning to do.

I think I could admit that Home is more “enjoyable” and “easier” to put on, but I’ve got a spiritual connection to Goodness. The year it came out it was too relatable in a lot of ways which makes it so special to me. It’ll be hard to top that connection ever for me.

From @PauLo ‘s list, I checked out Out to Lunch by Eric Dolphy, which is a jazz record. I find it pretty hard to talk about jazz confidently or express what I like / don’t like about records, but I enjoyed this!

Reminds me a bit of some of the stuff I’ve heard from Ornette Coleman, it has that chaotic energy to it, where it doesn’t feel like it’s moving in any set grooves or rhythms, and can twist and turn in any direction at any moment. A lot going on here, but it was a good listen!
