Let's hold our breath until we disappear

RIP Eddie. I’m so happy I was able to see them live in 2015.

This sucks. I never did a deep dive on them (1984 is the only full album I've heard) but always really enjoyed their singles and knew Eddie was an amazing guitarist. I'll definitely be digging into their discography.

Saw them twice. Eddie ripped that shit up every time and I was like 3 rows back from the stage the first time, lost my hearing for a good two days

The debut is on the Rushmore of hard rock, man. Just wall-to-wall excellent songs.

Diver Down is my favorite album. I probably have the most fun listening to Little Guitars than with any other song

not to pretend to be much of a fan (more problems with DLR/Hagar than the instrumentation) but dude is one of the two or three most revolutionary guitarists ever

When I think of THE metal guitar tone its either EVH or Tony Iommi.

  13. Van Halen was one of the first bands my father ever played for me when I was young - a lot of great memories associated with the band. damn this shit sucks

This riff, I mean come on. Some of my earliest musical memories are of my dad playing Van Halen for me when I was kid.

Honestly the songs I come back to most are album tracks like "On Fire", "I'm the One" and "Atomic Punk" where the rhythm section can barely keep pace with Eddie's ferocity.

Truly genius level guitar playing, what a loss.

Might as well start with the debut and work your way forward.

One of my favorite Eddie performances on their most maligned album:

Yeah, it was off the Twister soundtrack, but it still rips.

The DLR Van Halen albums should be required rock and roll listening. Their debut is top to bottom perfection.

Remember when this dude was straight up like "I don't listen to music other than my own"? Legendary flex

I am very much looking forward to flying down the highway while listening to 1984 tomorrow
