Wow 117k, that's amazing! His first number 1 album, and I think it's also the first pop punk album to hit #1 since California, right?
Also impressive that this outsold Blink's last album by a decent amount.

I really like it. There's really a void for a lot of young kids who listen to this stuff yet there's not a lot of young acts who occupy space here. I think there's room for some sum 41 sounding bands to exist. Bands I listened to as a teen were my age, I really feel like older people are hogging the media spotlight everywhere. Shit, Chris Rock/Jim Carrey/Alec Baldwin's the best you got for SNL average age is like 65. Missing out on youth voices today.

 

Really happy this sold well. I wish he could tour right now off of this. I think an MGK/Blink tour would do really well when things open back up. Maybe have something like Nothing/Nowhere and a newer pop punk band like Grayscale open up.

I didn't want to like this album based on hearing his singing voice but I can't get these songs out of my head. This is neck and neck with Stand Atlantic for my favorite pop punk release of the year!

 

Listening to the Stand Atlantic album right now cuz I’d never heard of them. This is straight up 2006-2007 warped tour neon pop punk haha.
